  1. What do you mean by training 2666 and not training 2800? I'm pretty new to all this, still trying to figure out all the terminology and methods.
  2. He told me to put everything to auto except primary, tried that and it didn't work either. I will try again later by training up to 2800 to see if it'll work now.
  3. Testing new 980 Classified I got a few weeks ago, loving it so far can't wait to put it on water and hit crazy clocks!
  4. Bump, may be interested in selling entire 16Gb kit, the other two sticks I have do 2800 c9.
  5. I can't check my chip in the mates PC, he lives across the country Yeah I tried the same voltage he was using, 2.08v DRAM voltage. I only have to use a very small amount of System agent and IOD/IOA to get 2666 9-11-11-18 TRFC 110 1t to run, with semi tight second/third timings. Surely adding more IOD/IOA System agent shud work, but I couldn't get it to post at 2800 c9.
  6. I am on X04 yeah, I can't boot straight to 2666 c9 or I get boot fail error. I have to train up from 2400. I have tried messing with system agent and iod/ioa and doesn't seem to have any effect. Not sure what else to do, I could get 2800 c11 to boot, but not c10 or c9.
  7. I'd like to do that but he's an online friend so using his board would be difficult as he lives quite far away. Newegg has a sale on oc formula right now so I might get one to test and see. I have heard it's one of the best boards for z97 overclocking so I may just switch to it if all goes well. Thanks!
  8. I have a set of Samsung trident x that did 2800 c9 on a friend's 4790k and asrock oc formula, but I can't seem to get them to do further than 2666 c9 on my 4770k and oc force. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or what, he gave me pics of all the timings etc and voltages to try & use but I couldn't get it to work. I tried doing what bullant was talking about in his threads about "training" like booting at 2400 then 2600 then 2666 etc, but that didn't work either. Is my imc just bad? I tried like three different bios as well so I don't think it's my board. I was thinking of selling the kit I have now(2400c9 Sammy tridentx 4x4), getting a cheaper ram kit for 24/7 use and a good kit of psc or something for superpi, then pocketing the rest of the money I have leftover, but idk.
  9. I've been looking to get a kit of ram for benching only, but was curious what I should look for. Should I be looking for psc, Samsung, hynix or what? Do the different IC's perform differently at the same timings? I'm leaning towards psc because I see a lot of people on here with really tight timings on psc, but figured I'd ask first. If I do get psc, should I just get some off eBay to save money and hope it clocks well? Do they have a really good rep for always clocking well, or is it really difficult to find a good kit? Sorry for all the questions, I'm new to the whole ram OC'ing game.
  10. Here's the SKU for the kit: F3-2400C9Q-16GTXD Here's the serial # of one of the sticks: 14092500050051 I am not 100% sure that is Samsung, but like 10 people have told me it is. I don't know how to take the heatspreader off, but from what I've seen everywhere, this kit is indeed Samsung IC's. Hopefully this picture is better:
  11. I have for sale 2 sticks of my 4 stick kit of 2400 CL9 TridentX, Samsung IC's. I only need 8Gb of ram for my everyday use, so I figured I'd sell 2 of the sticks to help pay for my 1080mm external watercooling loop. $70 shipped to US via USPS flat rate box. (I think this is reasonable, a few people on here told me to ask for around $80) PayPal only, I will send you an invoice for the purchase and I should be able to ship next business day. Pm me or leave a message here if you need anything. Timestamped pic:
  12. I don't think I can do much better than 2666 c9, my IMC is quite poor. I have 2 more identical sticks from the same 4x4 kit, and those two do 9-12-12-18 1t 2800 on a friend's 4790k, but I can't do much past 2666. I guess I can do a few screenshots of them doing 2666 c9 if that helps sell them a bit faster. I'd keep the entire kit of 4x4, but I really only need 8Gb if ram in my rig. Plus I'm trying to gather money for an external loop. Thanks!
  13. The c10 kit is around 65$ USD, should I ask like 75 or 80 USD shipped? Not sure if that is reasonable or not.
  14. I can't find them on ebay anywhere, only the C10 model. The model I have is C9
  15. I have 2x4Gb TridentX ram I want to sell, xmp 9-11-11-31 2400 1.65v. How much should I be asking for it? I plan on putting it in the marketplace section, but figured I should ask first so I don't price it to high or to low.
  16. Unsure if I'm allowed to use this, I'm using the new Nvidia driver " 353.38 " If not I can take it down and re-test.
  17. I have a problem, I updated my #1 BIOS to F7 a while back, and somehow it flashed the BIOS on both BIOS #1 and #2. Now I can't put X04 or any previous BIOS on. Someone told me I could make a bootable USB and boot into DOS and do it? F7 doesn't let you use q-flash in BIOS to flash previous versions, so I've gotta find a way around that.
  18. I will check and see what BIOS I'm on, I think I'm on F7 or something like that. Is this the one I need to be on? Oh... one issue... The BIOS I'm on, Gigabytes website says F7 BIOS prohibits updating to earlier versions of BIOS.. Is there a way to get around that? Or should I just flip the BIOS switch and use the second bios? PS: Do you think me being on F7 BIOS is why I couldn't get my RAM kit that did 2800 C9 on a friends z97 OCF to do it on my board? I used all the same settings he did, and it wouldn't run. (I even tried messing around with loads of timings, loosening them + adding voltages here and there, etc) It would boot 2666 c9 perfectly fine and 2800 c11 fine, but 2800 C9 wouldn't work. I don't think it's my IMC, because I didn't have to add any VSA or IOD/IOA voltages to get all the other speeds working.
  19. Does the Ln2 SOC Force let you go higher with voltage on memory? My normal SOC Force doesn't let me go higher than 2.1v.
  20. Does anyone know the science behind why we can achieve higher clocks at the same voltages while on sub ambient solutions? IE: CPU did 5 ghz 1.4v on Air, but can do 5.4 or 5.5 ghz @ 1.4v on Ln2. Is it because the resistance of the silicon is lowered by the extreme cold? If someone could explain it scientifically in layman's terms that'd be wonderful!
  21. Thanks guys, appreciate it!
  22. Am I allowed to ice-bucket my AIO in Rookie, or does that count as extreme cooling and put me in enthusiast? I ask because I just did a CB run on my 4770k with an ice bucket for my radiator, and I don't want to submit it unless I'm allowed to. I have a screenshot with temps and also a picture of my radiator in the bucket of ice if that helps any.
  23. Anything that can be done? I have been trying to report their submissions but that didn't seem to help either.
  24. Aw, their XTU hardware page is literally the exact same. Same amount of graphics card, same ram, same motherboard, same OS, same drivers. Also he said he had 1 980 in the submission and in his picture of his system, yet he has 2 980's in his XTU hardware.
