  1. my OC rig is my 24/7 rig so I use F7 on first BIOS slot and X04 on second BIOS slot. Then I just use F7 24/7 and X04 when I want to do some oc'ing
  2. Lol yeah! I actually tweeted at Gigabyte before I figured out what I had to do. They were like "please email Gigabyte@facebook.com and we will help you ASAP!" But then a guy on OCN quoted me and let me know about that program so I used that instead.
  3. It wouldn't let me over-write F7 bios because it like locks the board down so you can't revert to old BIOS. With the program in the link I posted, it did it first try and I got it all done worked right away.
  4. I used some program a guy on ocn told me to use, one sec I link u http://www.overclock.net/t/1490835/the-gigabyte-z97x-overclocking-guide/220#post_24097443 here's the post & directions, it worked for me to flash x04 on my second BIOS chip that had F7 on it.
  5. Aw that's true. You said you had the same issue I think? I'm on X04 too, so it must be board related or something, who knows. I'm gonna head off to bed, thanks guys again for all the memory help, I hope to get into 32m sometime and grab some psc as well to learn more!
  6. Our timings are quite close, but I need lots more voltage for that, around 2.1vdimm from my testings I get a tiny bit lower in a few timings, but then you beat me in some others. How did you manage to get timing configurator to display "tWR" correctly? Mine displays 18 even though bios set to 10 Thank you so much for your help bullant, I got this gem earlier to run XTU no problems at all! I am not sure what else I can change now, it seems like I'm not gaining any points on xtu anymore. I don't think they will do 2933 either unfortunately, unless I put a crap ton of voltage through them
  7. What's this "wazza" or "waza" a lot of superpi people talk about? I tried googling and finding stuff about it but I could only find people mentioning it here and there, instead of explaining what it is and what it does. (sorry for off-topic conversation, trying to learn )
  8. Bullant do you happen to use a stripped down version or normal version of xp for 32M benching? 32 bit or 64? I'm gonna work on rtl and IOL later tonight when it cools off, it's like 30c or better right now in my pc room
  9. Ok so post at 2800 auto RTL then lock in 42-42-4-4 43-43-4-4? Seems easy enough!
  10. Yeah I have memory fast boot set to "disable" Do I need to train back up from 2400/2600/2666/2800 with the lower RTL/IOL? here is what I was getting, (tWR is actually set to 10 in bios)
  11. For RTL training & tightening, do you happen to know if that just requires more VDIMM & VSA/IO? Or is it just VDIMM? I noticed my sammies at 2.11v for 2800 CL9 tight second/third timings, my mobo sets loose RTL and IOL, like 43-44 and 44-44 with 5-5 or something like that.
  12. Ahaha I try! I've been going by this username for a really long time online on various websites lol. Occasionally I run into people that recognize me because of the name Also are people allowed to ln2 their ram on the ambient challenge and use air/water for CPU? I know you guys have the limit of no lower than 25c on cpu, but couldn't someone use ln2 or dice for rams, or would you guys know by seeing the timings & frequency?
  13. oh ok that makes sense. Ty! I just got some semi decent scores, 1084 for 4/4 test and 1204 for 4.5/4.5 test. Some fine tuning maybe I can get higher like 1090 4/4 and 1210 for 4.5/4.5 Some peoples in my ram thread helped me get my ram to work finally at 2800 c9, so I'm working on tightening everything up!
  14. When I was submitting I had no option for putting a verification screenshot, is it because I pushed the compare online button in xtu? Do I have to save the profile and then use it manually?
  15. What am I doing wrong why can't I enter the competition? http://hwbot.org/submission/2923591
  16. I was planning on selling the other two sticks to pick up a cpu block for when my 1080mm radiator comes in, but maybe I should keep them incase I kill a stick somehow so I can rma. I'm from Salem Oregon so it's definitely not me coming in! I'm really hoping once I get my 1080 rad and 980/4770k on the loop I can get more points. I want first in novice real bad . I got to second place in rookie but couldn't quite get first. I reckon now that my I got my mems to do 2800 I can do some more testing once I'm on water for 3d benches and CPU stuff and maybe get my scores up!
  17. Ty guys so much, it worked! Now I need to fine tune a little bit more for IOL/RTL Also, it says my TWR is 18, but in BIOS it's set to 10? I'm only at 2.115 VDIMM, is it really safe to go up to 2.35? Maybe I could get the timings tighter with more volts?
  18. Man... It booted and passed a bench too, I'm so sad right now lol I can't believe all I needed was orange slots!!
  19. Oh wow, could that have been my issue? I was using the black ones because they were closer to the cpu, but now I see that orange are numbered 1 & 2. Can't test right now since I'm using my rig to watch movies lol. Also I was told past 2.15v on Sammies causes permanent damage, is this true?
  20. I just messed with it for nearly 2 hours, with hundreds of boots and it just doesn't do it The best I could get it to boot at was 2666 9-11-11-18 1T, with somewhat tight second/third timings and 42 RTL's IDK what else to try, the 2 sticks I have were validated by my friend before I bought them, and they were doing 2800 9-12-12-18 and 9-12-12-21 with real tight timings. IDK If it's my board, or CPU or what. It barely takes any voltage to VSA/IOD/IOA for 2666 c9, but I continued to bump up the voltage while trying 2800 c9, and it wouldn't post. I got all the way up to .225 VSA, .3 IO, and no post still, so I'm just gonna give up. Should I try putting them in the orange slots instead of the black ones even though the black ones are closer to CPU?
  21. I didn't ever have that setting disabled, could that be the reason I couldn't get the ram to do 2800 CL9, but 2666 CL9 was working? Also does anyone know what I should be looking at for VSA/IOA/IOD voltages? I know every chip is a bit different, but can someone give me a rough estimate? I can't seem to find anything online about what voltages I should need, or atleast an estimate.
  22. Do you happen to know what exactly memory training does? Just curious, trying to learn as much as I can.
