Maximus IX Apex basic review
So, few days ago I was at local ROG event. It was fun. The mainpart was the 5 GHz challenge in 3 tests. You can to do 5000 MHz (toleration +-10MHz) and everything with your WIndows, RAM or cache. The mainprize was the CPU i3-7350K, second GSkill TridentZ memory 2x 4GB 3600MHz with Samsungs chip inside. So good motivation for only two teams . Me and Aero did more extreme things. Phase cooling and LN2 overclocking. Something to eat The fight setups were built on Maixmus IX Hero, GSkill TridentZ 3600 MHz and i3-7350Ks. Guys used AIO cooling. Benchmarks for competition were Superpi 32M Cinebench R15 multithread HWBOT PRIME benchmark delided i7-7700K L643G202, my second best retail what I have. Me and Aerou used Apex board. Ohh Yeaaah Aerou isolation, classic with gume Im ready to cool down. So into the BIOS, load my RAM setups for E-die and after back to the BIOS and waiting, waiting, slowly down with temps spare RAM kits+DIM2 card with M2 SSD Crazy setup phase cooling. So weight to transfer it Aerou guy Back to classic cooling method and to guys with their setups some help of me as judge Aero is focusing, 6 GHz At my side, I did some mistake with too high PLL Core voltage and two cores of CPU died. In this monents I did not know it exactly. I started with glance, easy 6 GHz Superpi runs with 1.65V. I went go to the BIOS and tried higher voltages for PLL Termination voltage, DMI and PLL Core. OK, posted to the WIndows. Run Superpi and it frozed it after few rounds and get BSOD. I thought, it is too low core voltage. But after BSOD I cant boot to the WIndows. Post was OK, booting to the logo and BSOD again and again. I tried stock CPU settings and the same. Temps at sensor were still around the -160 C at least (if I remember right). So I thought OS is corrupted. I tried next SSD and the same issues from start. Maybe some wet? I dried the setup, remounted it and try it with "air". It not helped. With 6600K CPU everything was OK. So problem is in the CPU! Today I know, CPU is working OK only with 1 or 2 cores and something inside the CPU died... But afterall, it was fun and great day. I have still two next 7700Ks (one is very good), party will continue Main topic were with guys for guys and there are results. Team of Stratos guy won PS: Daniel (Dancop) watch you

Ryzen Targets for Launch Day
the gain is not epic, hard to say how much points add it with 16 threads...I tested it at Kaby and not much, few points.

XFastest leak: 1700X beats 5960X
We have also wprime or CInebenchs for nice points and geekbench But Im sure, Superpi is on Ryzen best AMD Superpi ever ,-) Will see it soon.

LN2 coolers - Otterauge Rev.4 full copper - 2x GPU coolers
this is monster, similar had Aerou few days ago at event and so height

Ryzen Targets for Launch Day
Elmor was there...,-) Im really believe, later we will see 2500 points with Ryzens. All its about time and OC guys and binning

XFastest leak: 1700X beats 5960X
If we know Cinebench single score also, thats mean solid comparison about single thread potential. I saw Superpi also, but I cant tell you more guys. But this benchmark is really tooooo legacy in real world, so...

XFastest leak: 1700X beats 5960X
But it is still impressive clock to clock comparison Really better than I thought. I thought the top 8c/16t will be good as i7-6850K in Cinebenchs a nd reality is really better Thumbs up AMD

Zen SuperPI 32M 5G/4G Challenge
or better board? I heard something, older ES are a bit worse than retails in OC (-100 to -200 MHz)

XFastest leak: 1700X beats 5960X
Its as 4100 MHz i7-5960X or similar as i7-6900K at Auto settings=(1475 to 1578 points, depends on multicore settings in BIOS, RAM, OS etc) Single thread of 1700x is similar as i5-4690K (3.9GHz boost) or i7-6900K (3.7 GHz boost) or almost as i7-4770K (3.9GHz boost). It seems, for multithread is no problem boost of 1700x at 3500 MHz or more. For single thread Im sure it is about 3900 MHz (look at FireStrike screen and current CPUZ)

I saw only real Cinebench run of 1700X and there is it good Details I cant tell with respect to me and AMD relationships.
