Strat Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Is this possible with that setup? Seems incredibly fast.... Quote
pasatoiutd Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Unfortunately for me, it is slow, actually. It is even slower than your PSC-based submission (http://img.hwbot.org/u27054/image_id_1015875.jpeg) and Elpida Hyper is faster than PSC-based memory at that frequency. Using PSC memory and the same setup, I was more than one second a half slower (http://img.hwbot.org/u6067/image_id_1297646.jpeg). Quote
Strat Posted December 11, 2014 Author Posted December 11, 2014 Well Of course you are slower than me my mems are Ln2 cooled at c6 with tight subs Quote
pasatoiutd Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 You have 6-9-6-21-1-4-60-8-4-16-4-6-6, while I have 7-7-6-20-1-4-66-6-4-16-6-4-7. Your CL 6 vs 7) and TRef (60 vs 66) are tighter, but TRCD (9 vs. 7) and tRAS (21 vs. 20) are looser. For the other secondary subtimings there are no important differences (8-4-16-4-6-6 vs. 6-4-16-6-4-7), because tWCL is very important only for PSC. If I have to bet, I would say TRCD is more important than CL for Sandy Bridge. I cannot say I am very happy with the result, as I could not run SPi 32 M @ 106.4 x 47 with the Hypers, so I will bench again on this platform. Quote
pasatoiutd Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Because my PSC memory was air cooled and it hit a wall @ 1.825V, I could not decrease tRAS below 26 and tRFC below 74, but, as you can see, all the other subtimings are quite tight. Quote
Administrators websmile Posted December 11, 2014 Administrators Posted December 11, 2014 Time is possible for sure, I had 6m33 with bbse cas7 TWCL8 and single small waza, if you can run the hypers trcd7 at 1134, you will most likely see a 6m31 flat or high 6m30,xxx Quote
Strat Posted December 11, 2014 Author Posted December 11, 2014 Didn't think hypers make such a difference... Quote
Alex@ro Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 hypers score good...when they work, and that takes huge luck on newer platforms... Quote
I.nfraR.ed Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 PSC on Sandy are easier to work with, but properly tuned Hypers should be faster. Quote
l0ud_sil3nc3 Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Score is possible, wait till you see BBSE on air Quote
l0ud_sil3nc3 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Didn't think hypers make such a difference... They do, but to find a set that works well in Z77 is very hard, P67/Z68 should yield much better results. Quote
