Crew Turrican Posted September 24, 2011 Crew Posted September 24, 2011 lol, nice. and what did you gain with the additional cooling? Quote
Christian Ney Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 lol, nice.and what did you gain with the additional cooling? Not tested yet, I know the GTX 260M is 700 MHz stable on air, now I am just testing insulation & fixation. Will also check if I manage to find any voltage regulator chip and mod it. CPU is only a Q9000 OCed @ 2.5 GHz though Quote
der8auer Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Looks cool Did you also insulate that thing? Or just put the SS on top of it? Quote

Crew Turrican Posted September 24, 2011 Crew Posted September 24, 2011 be sure to isolate it well or it will die. Quote
Christian Ney Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 be sure to isolate it well or it will die. Still under warranty, if I kill it, I will have the new one with Sandy Bridge + GTX 560M , well I hope so Quote

Masterchief79 Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Sick man remember when i felt crazy ocing a NVS Quadro 140M ^^ How did you mount that thing? Or is it just put on top of the chip? you should send these pictures to alienware^^ Quote
Christian Ney Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 Well atm I am studying how to insulate it well, as for fixation, just need to do 4 more holes on my 2 Single Stage plate. Cannot go higher than 2.5GHz for the CPU thru the BIOS, It's impossible to set higher bus speed , stock is 2 GHz. however, just because I can, I will cool the CPU with LN2. On monday, I hope, I will Bench the GPU under Single Stage + CPU on air, and if everything go well later next week I will Single Stage the GPU + LN2 the CPU. DDR3 sux btw, 800 MHz (1600 MHz) 9-9-9, no way to change CL. Quote
Crew Turrican Posted September 25, 2011 Crew Posted September 25, 2011 too bad, you can't clock that much. with my laptop i can change ram timings, oc the gpu, oc the cpu without ptoblems. Quote

I use nvidia systemtools but I can't change CL, so I run 9-7-7-20 I think Quote
Crew Turrican Posted September 25, 2011 Crew Posted September 25, 2011 ok, that sucks. i'm glad to have an intel chipset then. Quote
Christian Ney Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) Okaayy, more pics at Ocaholic.ch Including overview + voltage regulator chips (Mods comming later) and fixation plate for single stage now GTX 260M capable Edited October 25, 2011 by Christian Ney Quote
