K404 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Im comparing some runs iv done in 3D06 and I really REALLY dont see how a couple guys have pulled the FPS they have in parts of 3D06, especially given their MHz. I dont know enough about MIP and D-PP to flag their results but i'd like to know... how do these cheats affect the 3DM06 sub-test scores? I dont want to say much about the categories users or scores. I dont want to risk tainting any replies.... Cheers! Quote
Gautam Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 mip should substantially increase canyon flight, slightly increase CPU tests, and leave the rest pretty normal. Quote
BenchZowner Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 haha, never thought of that. Disabling post-processing is so lame. Quote
71proste Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 (edited) High Dynamic Range Lighting is a Post Processing effect, I think In 3DMark06 the post-processing is always on by default. People who disabled this future should be banned or their results removed !!! Edited November 22, 2009 by 71proste Quote
Oj0 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Aren't AA and AF also PP? And Massman, the only person with * in his name that I know of is chew*, are you trying to say something? J/K Quote
BenchBros Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 disable post-processing Is this a legal tweak? Quote
K404 Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 Nope, not legal --> Needs mentioned in the rules page please admins Quote
K404 Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 Oops! Sorry, I only looked in the general section. Quote
TerraRaptor Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Well, this tweak is easily noticed - the balance between SM2.0 and SM3.0 changes after D-PP cheat. Quote

Oj0 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 What about AM3? AF is on for a default run, and if you force it to off in the drivers you won't be able to tell Quote
Crew Vivi Posted November 24, 2009 Crew Posted November 24, 2009 thats why this stay's a trusted community and sport Quote
Massman Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 What about AM3? AF is on for a default run, and if you force it to off in the drivers you won't be able to tell Do note that there's a difference between tweaking the driver and changing benchmark settings. Disabling AA/AF through the driver is okay, but you cannot change the default benchmark settings. Quote
71proste Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 I have totally different question. I found many suspicious scores but.... Is it possible to upload scores using illegal software like MIP etc.end the ORB(futuremark)will still accepted ? Quote
BenchZowner Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 MIP runs are accepted on ORB ( doesn't detect it ) AFAIK. So yes, it is possible. Quote
71proste Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 That's very bad, I didn't know that I have to report many scores from now Quote
Massman Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 You can't publish a MIP'ed 3DMark03, but 05/06/V is possible. Quote
71proste Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 You can't publish a MIP'ed 3DMark03, but 05/06/V is possible. MIP'ed 3dm06 is easy to detect Thank you for answering Quote
K404 Posted December 18, 2009 Author Posted December 18, 2009 How about starting to hand out short-term bans for users who regularly submit results with D-PP, Mip and PhysX in Vantage? 1st 2 offences- results removed with warning 3rd offence: 1-week ban? 4th offence: 1-month ban? etc Theres big warning signs about this stuff.. especially PhysX so IMHO anyone submitting like this deserves little sympathy and two of them ARE cheats.
