Gamer Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Asus Maximus V Extreme. 4x7970, 3x 5870 or 3x 8800GTX. When I bench full pot the scores go down, strange freezes in the screen. It starts @ -140 and below in seconds. Single GPU full pot is ok. It worked before with the same settings Wprime at the same speed is ok. I don't have a second board at hand, but is this a CPU or motherboard problem? Quote
TaPaKaH Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 which PCI-E Gen more are you running? (you might need to go down to Gen 2) Quote
K404 Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 CPU. It's a PCI-E problem. Some chips can't handle the PCI-E load.....some don't run 4-way at all. Quote
Gamer Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 PCI-e gen is auto, haven't tried different. So no positive outcome in this? Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted January 16, 2013 Crew Posted January 16, 2013 Maybe another board to confirm it's the CPU for sure... (FYI I don't trust Kenny, he's very jealous if someone beats his scores ) Quote
K404 Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Yea, I am really mad that my 4-way 7970 scores have been beaten. oh, wait....... I don't have any Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted January 16, 2013 Crew Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) not yet still got a UP7 or MVE here to test Luc... Edited January 16, 2013 by Leeghoofd Quote
Gamer Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 It's not the cpu nor the motherboard but the man behind the keyboard Switched to LN² extreme profile as a last resort and it worked. Will investigate what setting was wrong in my profile. Quote
Stelaras Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 You mean the extreme profiles that set some high values like 2.3v pll and stuff like that ?? Quote
