Billy-The-Kid Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Probaly i,m in!! I will nake my media center lol (raspberry pi)! Quote
Saito Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 big question , does it work on android? Quote
Massman Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 No(t yet). You'll need Linux distribution for this. Quote
Icemen Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I'm in, too. (with my rapberry) I don't have hardware like this, but here's a question: Is the ODROID-XU (or similar single-board computers) allowed? It has 8 cores, but because of the big.LITTLE architecture only the 4 fast A15 cores or the 4 "slow" A7 cores are used. Alternatives with A15 cores are the Arndale Board and YSE5250. I think there should be a raspberry pi only stage Quote
Massman Posted September 4, 2013 Author Posted September 4, 2013 We have three stages: 1x CPU (single core)-> ideal for Raspberry 2x CPU (dual core) 4x CPU (quad core) -> ODROID-U2 I would say the ODROID-XU is not allowed because it has 8 cores, regardless of how many are actually used for the benchmark. Mack4033 Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Will my I-7 2600k fit in the rules for this contest? Thanks Quote
GENiEBEN Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Will my I-7 2600k fit in the rules for this contest? Thanks Only ARM devices, so no. Quote
Buker Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 I can't send my report http://hwbot.org/submission/2422240 there is a bug on the ARM only criteria. Quote
Massman Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 Fixed! Very nice score - latest JDK ? Quote
Massman Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 Cool! It would be nice to see a full guide after the competition is over. ARM needs open source :D Quote
Luebke Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 this challange is a great idea =) it´s a pity i don´t have a raspberry maybe i should buy one just for the challange? Ö_Ö Quote
Massman Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 Hoping to see more activity, though Quote
Luebke Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 my mobile-phone has a arm v6 600 mhz cpu, but no overclocking possible maybe you should find a sponsor for prices, than a lot of people may spend the 34,- € for a raspberry to get a chance to win the price Quote
Massman Posted October 3, 2013 Author Posted October 3, 2013 Damn, not too much enthusiasm for ARM I see :( Quote
d3mox Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Not much enthusiasm because it' based on linux and it' not the same OC Quote
Luebke Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 i guess nearly no one here has such a system and for only one competition no one would buy ist maybe if there are more competitions with a arm-stage (only one, others for x86-systems) more overclockers would spend the 34 € for a raspberry...? i realy like the idea of including different hardware to the competitions. so it would become more diversified and interesting instead of haswell with titan wins everything Quote
*kenny* Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Its because there is obviously some sort of software hack/tweak that the guys at the top are using as there is no way to get those sort of scores without it, and if you are not in the know then there is no point in competing, just look at the difference between the top two results and every other arm submission, there is a mile between them, so something is a miss...... Aerou Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 This competition is great! I love unexplored territory. Plus, these little devices are so cool. I wish I participated earlier. I have ordered an ODROID quite some time ago, but it is still stuck at customs. I won't get my hands on it until after the competition Quote
