September 26, 200718 yr Since noone posted here! A really simple question: Which proccesors do u prefer and why(Amd or Intel)?
October 20, 200718 yr I go with whatever offers the best Bang for my Bucks. Recently its been Intels though, the last 5 CPU's I've owned have been Intel's (Core Duo T2600, Core 2 Duo T7200, E6400, E6600, E6700). Currently using an E6400 because I sold my E6600 and E6700. Before Core Duo's I had been with AMD's for years.
October 25, 200718 yr i've owned 1AMD and 5 Intels. i like intel no FanBoy but i find they are just better AMD xp 2900+ Intel Celeron D 2.4Ghz Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz Intel Pentium D 920 Intel Celeron D 365 (OC to 4.7GHz) Intel E6550 (get this tomorrow, cant wait)
October 25, 200718 yr Intel for now. No stupid cold bugs with -100'c, no problems with htt, better performance, can take more volts, no problems with high mem overclocking etc. Now amd are for ladies and "aircooled" ocers . In my daily rigs I have P4 631 with HT (4-4.2ghz 1.15v passive, great performance/heat/price) and undervoltaged PM 1.4GHz in laptop. I'm not playing games, so I don't need better ones . My current cpus: Celly 352 (@7.9GHz LN2 ), P4 631 (@~7GHz with cascade), P4 631 ES, A64 2800+ (propably broken), Celly 420, E4400, P3 1GHz.... duron 750MHz , and few <500mhz .
March 10, 200818 yr i like both currently i have used more AMD chips than intels PD 930 (no oc cause the mobo=gay but its a HTPC so i dont care) celeron D 351 @ ~3.8ghz 24/7, 4.2ghz max on a ECS P4M800-pro i would go higher but i'm capped at a +.03v to the cpu and its for my sister so it really doesn't matter AXP 2000+ tbred on a MSI K7N2-delta (went boom some time ago) 3000+ newcastle CG max oc 2.59ghz @1.81v (tried up to 2v with no increase in oc) on a Machspeed K8M8MS r2 3400+ clawhammer C0 @2.35ghz 1.56v 24/7 on a machspeed K8M8MS r2 (replaced my 3000+ and outperforms it @ 2.35ghz vs 2.59ghz) 3000+ venice still sitting in a box waiting for the pci-e vid card i ordered to show up on a DFI infinity ultra this should do 3ghz+ on air not much money as you can see so there all low end chips but i do my best getting them to run todays apps/games my 3400+ ran crysis when i mated it with a BFG 7800GS OC @ all med/high 1027x768 No stupid cold bugs with -100'c, no problems with htt, better performance, can take more volts, no problems with high mem overclocking etc. Now amd are for ladies and "aircooled" ocers . no cold bugs on my chips...and i doubt any intel chip can run @ 2v vcore and survive
March 10, 200818 yr from the beggining to the end... amd athlon xp 1700+ amd athlon xp 2500+ (barton core) amd athlon xp 2600+ (barton core) trade athlon 1700 with an athlon xp 2000+ amd athlon xp 2800+ amd athlon 64 3400+ (laptop) sell athlon 2000+ sell athlon 2800+ intel core duo 4300 intel pentium 3 600mhz ! that's my story
April 1, 200818 yr My history: AMD 486DX2 40MHz Intel Pentium 120MHz Intel Celeron 333A AMD Athlon (T-bird) 900MHz AMD Athlon XP 2100+ (T-bred B0) AMD Athlon XP 1700+ ( - || -) AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (Barton) AMD Athlon XP-M 2400+ (- || -) AMD Athlon 64 3000+ S939 (Winchester) AMD Opteron 144 (Venus) Intel C2D E6300 Intel C2D E6400 Intel C2D E6600 Intel C2D E6700 Intel C2D E2140 Intel C2D E8500 That's my history i guess, i had few more chips for a shorter period of time, those listed i had for at least half a year.
April 6, 200818 yr I prefer Intel !! In the past I had an AMD processor X2 3800+...now I have Q6600 G0 processor and I am very satisfied !!
April 7, 200818 yr Has anyone played with the phenom B3 yet? not yet but from what i ve seen its same crap lol
April 7, 200818 yr no cold bugs on my chips...and i doubt any intel chip can run @ 2v vcore and survive I want too amd non coldbugged chip! Has anyone played with the phenom B3 yet? crap, -30 at evap and cannot boot at stock freq:banana::banana::banana:
June 17, 200818 yr well my story: intel pentium 133MHz amd k6 180MHz amd k6-II 300 MHz amd k6-II 500MHz amd duron 800MHz intel pentium 3 1GHz amd athlon xp 1800 1,5GHz @1,8GHz OC amd athlon xp 2800+ 2,2GHz @2,5GHz OC amd athlon 64 3800+ 2,4GHz @2,6GHz OC amd athlon x2 4600+ 2,4GHz @2,65GHz OC amd athlon x2 6400+ 3,2GHz @3,4GHz OC and seriously amd had better times than yet^^ but im fine with my x2 6400+..maybe i will buy a phenom x4 9850 or a intel c2d q6600 i dont know yet^^
July 5, 200817 yr My story: AMD Duron 800MHz@ 1200MHz AMD Athlon 1400MHz@1700MHz AMD Athlon XP 1800+ @ 1640MHz AMD Sempron 2600+ @ 2520MHz AMD Turion 64 MK-38 @ 2681MHz AMD Athlon X2 4000+ @ 3.2GHz Intel Celeron Willamette 1,7GHz @ 2.5GHz AMD and Intel - good CPU's. I like Athlon, Sempron,..., Celeron, Pentium, and over CPU's.
August 12, 200817 yr I want too amd non coldbugged chip! crap, -30 at evap and cannot boot at stock freq:banana::banana::banana: so much for non-coldbugged chips my single cores were fine frozen but the duals/quads are annoying now i have phenom 9500 @2.84 under water 5000BE 3.5ghz under water celly 430 2.4ghz stock volts (stupid ECS mobo again) e7200ES unknown top right now cause i think my 780i is DOA
April 15, 200917 yr now you have the coldbug free Phenom II chips. AMD FTW I think you just put MaSell's foot in his mouth.. -200C + and still no coldbug..
July 1, 200916 yr Athlon X2 6000+ here, no problems so far, but I do feel like upgrading the whole rig
July 1, 200916 yr Hey bro Welcome to the forum! I have a 5600+ here. For a 24/7 system, I love it. Id be willing to give up a chunk of performance for AMD purely because of AMDs mounting mechanism!!
July 24, 200916 yr AMD k6 350 intel celeron tualatin 1.1GHz@1.33GHz AMD X2 4600+ EE@2640MHz (first Windsors F2 ) AMD X3 8650@2740MHz (bad motherboards-nVidia chipset, not possible higher than 240 busspeed ) now: AMD X4 955@3895MHz (stable of course with aircooling)
