Maybe if the rest of the staff were a little more transparent, less conclusions like mine would be drawn.

I DID say just some of the staff, not all.
One would be very naive to think otherwise. People hold their tweaks very close to themselves, I expect the staff to be no different. I meant no disrespect. I just call it as I see it.
You're more than welcome to PM me if you're interested in any of the subtests, tho I am sure it's not the case.Don't underestimate me. I'm fully aware of what most of the subtest tweaks are.
Believe what you want, I'm no longer interested in PCM05 as a valid benchmark. I am however interested in keeping this and any other bench cheat free.

It seems that some of the staff has been informed of some of these tweaks and they themselves have been using them. Still, other staff members post regularly, asking the members to share the "tweaks" so that they can be properly evaluated. It seems odd that one staff member knows the tweaks and others don't.
It's because the staff are benchers too.
Nobody is willing to give up secrets in the name of fair play because it takes away their edge. The staff is more loyal to their benching teams than they are to the site.
Not all the staff mind you, just some.

In pcm05 Software was and is more than Hardware... it is an hdd Benchmark, not an i have a 6ghz+ CPU...
So lets get topic, read threat name, and lets put this comments to other place;)
I answered a question that was posed to me, that makes it on topic.
I have no preference for any bench. I stopped playing it a while ago when I realized that it was no longer being used as a hardware bench like it was supposed to be.
People are just using this exploited bench to stoke globals, and there's nothing you can say to prove any different.
How many people still run MaxxMem being that there are no points?

No points, because hardware no longer matters. If anything, silverware only.
Let's see how many will still run it when no points are involved.

Today I learned OS tweaking is hacking.
Nobody mentioned OS tweaking.
Replacing files in a benchmark is illegal though. It always has been, yet for some reason it's being overlooked in this benchmark. Why?

Tweaking is a huge part of overclocking, try getting a 01 wr without tweaks

Might be a good thing to tell what benchmark you plan on using. It's not mentioned on the entire challenge page.
EDIT- Nevermind. I see the benchmarks on the stage pages.

It's much harder to take someones tweaking ability seriously when one of their results is being investigated for photoshop, right after they are suspended for a month for submitting someone elses result by accident.

Why on earth do we have to post official news regarding this case on a daily basis? Should be more than good enough to make a statement when we're done - which is not the case right now.

Not trying to be a hater but, it would seem the evidence is quite obvious. I would assume the penalty would be quite obvious also. It shouldn't take that much effort...........unless you're waiting for the check to clear.

What happened to the Monthly competitions? Is HWBOT only hosting vendor based comps now? I think my gear has gained a fine layer of dust on it, time to get it back in action! Anything on the horizon?

That's what they do. When they had issues with PCMark Vantage and singlecores they just removed support, after having official support for a few years already.
That's why I mentioned it.
It's the easy out. Anything that can be done to save PCM05 will have to be done here. FM is unlikely to help due to the age of the bench and PCM7 coming out.
I'm all for trying a wrapper. I don't dislike the bench, I dislike the way it's being exploited.

So say someone makes a wrapper that works 100% and there is no way to cheat. What happens to the scores that have been showing up for the past couple of months?
Excellent question.
You can't leave them. They'll be there till the end of time, and you can't pick and choose which one's because legitimate scores will become collateral damage. Only way I can see it is to wipe all PCM05 scores and start from scratch.

Maybee an wrapper can Help that files cant replaced during an test...
But how can it check scripts that change options? Ie runs outside the bench.
HWB staff ARE benchers.
