Dejo and Dejo's daughter accounts
Maxi replied to I.M.O.G.'s topic in Submission & member moderation
No rules were made up. Existing rules require submissions are done by the person owning the hardware, duh. That doesn't mean two accounts either. If dejo gave october hardware she can submit with it. The problem was submissions that appear to be done by the same person. C'mon guys, we've seen this over the years countless times. hwbot has always moderated these. There have been threads in the lounge with people complaining about exactly the same problem (go look them up) and now when it's OCF it's supposed to be OK. But enough of that, Massman is close to a solution here, let's not loose sight of that. Enough damage has ben done as it is. -
Dejo and Dejo's daughter accounts

That would again be a violation of hwbot rules if she ran the benches, did she? If so, you seem to have difficulty understanding the no sharing concept. -

Yet again another instance of the word cheat As far as proof goes it's exactly the opposite of what you stated. The burden is on the person claiming the result. Benchmarks are done by individuals, those individuals 'prove' their results via verification, e.g., screen shot, ORB link. It is 100% the benchers responsibility to satisfy the judging body (hwbot) and we can moderate as we see fit. Some good thoughts, results do go through that process. The community views them and has the option to report anything that looks off. And again we are going off what has been the norm online for a very long time. People don't realize how the screen shot itself has evolved since hwbot came around, it's amazing how good everyone is at them now. New accounts are subject to the same scrutiny by the community so I'm not sure pre-validating accounts would help. If we could validate each account to a person that would be helpful, but then you'd need to verify hardware ownership and a myriad of other details to be 100% sure. There are changes hwbot can and will be making, and it's important for the community to be involved so keep the ideas coming. -
Dejo and Dejo's daughter accounts
Maxi replied to I.M.O.G.'s topic in Submission & member moderation
Of all the people... Cheating implies knowledge, and that someone knowingly is side-stepping the rules, in this case like I said earlier, it looks more like a simple misunderstanding of our rules. So once again for all the slow people, hwbot never accused anyone of cheating. The results that are in violation of our rules (because we have no indication they are not) will be blocked. -

Some people have a real reading comprehension problem, you keep throwing the cheat word around when we have never accused anyone of that. You're right, everything here is based on trust for the most part. When it comes to moderation we can only go on what we have in front of us and looking at those results, it looks like a rule violation. If that had been considered before those results were posted, if it was made it clear why the community and hwbot likes to see different accounts actually look like it is a unique person submitting results, we wouldn't be here now. -

No, result sharing is giving someone a result you made, i.e., a result file or screen shot. -

Result sharing. I'm not calling anyone a cheater btw, I think it was a simple mis-understanding of the rules. -

You think it's normal to coach someone exactly where to position elements on the desktop rather than simply what needs to be present? I don't. -

I was staying out of this but I am a mod here, it's my job. OK, there are reasons to be concerned about the submissions and result sharing (not hardware sharing) namely the screens shots with items placed in basically the exact same positions. If you have two different people behind the keyboard, the chances of that happening are remote. There are several examples of this between the two accounts. It's true there is no rule preventing family members from creating accounts, friends & teams bench together sharing ideas and knowledge all the time ── hwbot is not against any of that, duh. But when you have results that look to be done on the same system by the same person (as the item placement pretty much confirms) there is a problem. It has been suggested that these two accounts be merged, I for one do not agree with that. Results in questions should be moderated and that is all. It could be argued that one of the accounts be banned for violating our result sharing rules, but hwbot chose to ask for an account merger instead.
