  1. I'll be in Taiwan for Computx again (number 8 I think). Staying over by'ish the computer market an will be in town until the 13th. Sadly the show will be all work for me but i'm always up for a meetup. (assuming there isn't an afterparty to attend )
  2. Thanks guys! you wouldn't believe how many times i did the math trying to figure out who needed to be bumped to help me move ^^ 14hrs left! this is getting exciting.
  3. Thanks, I really believe I could have done better had I figured out what I was doing wrong sooner rather than later.
  4. I've been benching the past few days and really tried to catch Duke but it would seem that all my card has is 1560Mhz. It had run faster in the past but the scores were horrible. (finally figured out why) On a positive I did get a really good 03 score in this last round.
  5. Woah, I didnt realize this sub made the front page ^^ Thanks the card is really nice!
  6. I'm benching today, but sadly am getting pwn'ed by the "You are not considered awesome by MSI" limitation. *grumble grumble
  7. stock cooler does pretty good on those cards, and I really like the dual purpose design keeping the GPU and VRM/MEM on separate rails.
  8. BTW those pics by "Ninjalane" are actually mine I'm glad they are getting some mileage (or kilometers outside of the US) I love the POM top, the machine work is a prefect and the fit on the pot is quite snug. No chance that it will rotate on you. In fact the washers that sit between the springs and the top disappear in the POM material like they didn't exist. As for the backplate, I was one of the folks that didn't like the thick POM and normally use the stainless plate that came with my phase to secure the pot. My biggest battle is how to install it all. All-thread is impossible to work with and my phase came with some really long 4mm screws so the screwhead would act as the bottom nut. Its nice but takes forever to run that nut down to the bottom and the screws aren't long enough for the pot. To be honest, a threaded base like what KP uses seems to be the best solution in most cases.
  9. OMG the standoff is over, As of this post there are two SuperPi scores ehehe.
  10. Someone said in a movie once (think James Bond) that you don't play your hand but the hand of the person across from you. So, with Splave showing us how deep his pockets are what does that tell you? He does have some shiny gear, can't wait to see what it can do.
  11. It might be worth it until you try to get back into the US. The border guards tend to get a little excited when they see Colombia on your passport.
  12. Not sure you can get a GTX 680 anywhere yet, or can you......
  13. I hope to be at the MOA finals either as a competitor or as a "reporter/spectator". Of course my preference would be to compete since that would be a lot more fun. If all else fails I'll be taking "option 3" or checking the couch for airfare money. This should be a good challenge and highly focused on getting good GPU scores.
  14. This might be too early but I'm curious, last year the MOA finals and regional qualifiers were two person teams. Do we know if that will be the same this year?
  15. USPS tracking is cr@p but the box made it thru customs, I expect it here any day now. believe me I am looking forward to seeing them too
  16. Finally a comp I can feel good about entering I have two 8800 GTX cards here all modded up just waiting for the LN2 containers. w00t!
  17. I was talking with MSI about this at CES, I'm glad they are committed to making it happen.
  18. I have done that more times than I would like to admit. minus the flaming balls of death
  19. Great results. I was wondering how you would get an AGP card to run on PCI Express, now I know.
  20. Wow what an epic thread!, I wanted to throw my two coins in and say that this is really a bad idea. First of all if you step back a moment, aside from the "league" distinction everyone is still on the same scale. Pro League, OC League doesn't really matter unless you are looking for reasons to pad your point standings. (within the league) I still look at myself at the Country level and rarely pay attention to the Leagues or ever overall. As for a grace period for when submissions will generate points. I am not a fan, not so much because it prevents "pro" level people from submitting scores but more from the fact that you are limiting members from showing off their new system and subjecting them to rules that clearly don't matter. Besides it not like their record will last long, give it a month they will be down from 10 points and a gold cup to 0.1 and forgotten in the sea of submissions. IMO this whole thread is a witch hunt. However, if you really are worried about Pro vs OC league placement you need to implement a voting system so that if someone flags a result and thinks the person needs to move up to Pro then it should be handled like a submission moderation and case by case. Give the member a chance to justify themselves and if they happen to be a repeat offender then make it a mandatory move.
