  1. According to Bill and his crappy efficiency due to cat 9.10 instead of 9.12hf, I think win7 x64 + 2 tweaks = better ( hint: 5.5GHz i7 950/975 + 5870 @ 1200/1200 + win7x64 = 406k+ )
  2. First post updated. A "fix" for the Windows 2003 Server E.E. x86 Xtreme ISO ( nhelper missing file message fix )
  3. The most rewarding "tweaks" for wPrime 32 and 1024 are... 1) Use the appropriate Windows version ( Windows XP x86 for Intel Core i3/i5/i7/i9 CPUs, Windows Vista x86 for Intel Core 2 Duo/Quad/Extreme CPUs ) 2) Do a copy-wazza ( just like you do for SuperPi, it helps in wPrime too ) 3) Make sure you install the chipset & VGA drivers for your system ( wPrime is slower without these ) 4) Enable LSC ( LargeSystemCache = 1 ) 5) Run wPrime in realtime priority with prifinity or a batch file 6) Disable Windows Themes / Aero ( could be the opposite, I don't remember for sure, sorry )
  4. I don't have a stripped 2k8 server... yet But I should have one soon ( actually I will upload the rest OSs in the following days ) [ the full suite... x86 & x64 version of all windows versions, XP, 2003, Vista, 7, 2008 ]
  5. Ok boys, you should consider yourselves lucky to be able to try my customized benchmarking-oriented Windows ( ok, I might be overreacting and exaggerating I don't get to talk nice about myself often ) Ok! ok! I'll stop mumbling I haven't integrated any CD Keys, so yes, you can legally download these operating systems and try them for free for 30 days without a key or forever just by using your genuine CD Key. They're in ISO format archived in split RAR files. Just download the archives and extract the ISO and burn it with a cd/dvd burning application ( Nero, etc ). The links are interchangeable. You might get an automatic restart in the first boot. Have fun! 6. The difference is more than 200MHz, as there are some Q3FEs ( don't know in whose hands most of them are nowadays, but I know a few people who had/have 6.6GHz Pi1M gulftown ESs, 6.5GHz easy 3D & Pi32M, 6.4GHz all 3D, etc ). I refuse to believe that a very newer revision will clock worse than those early ES revisions ( unless Intel really went out of their road and headed to the mt. Everest cherrypicking those "few" golden Q3FEs ). If nobody manages to get a retail 980X ( on his own, not by somebody who knows someone who knows someone whose cousin works for Intel ) that benches Pi1M at 6.3-6.4GHz then I think we might have to exclude the ESs. Patience is a virtue, so IMHO we should wait a bit and see. I'm waiting for the launch to get one or two CPUs to play with.
  7. I think it's wiser to wait for a couple ( well... I mean 30-50 ) retail 980X get tested on LN2 and then if there's a huge discrepancy between the Q3FE E.S. that were hitting 6.4GHz + and the retail 980X's hitting 6.1 - 6.2GHz at most, I'd rule out the Gulftown E.S. off HWbot's ranked results ( by ranked results I mean the results awarded with points & hwpoints )
  8. Well, you do need to modify your board if it's the old revision ( 1.0 ) that can't boot with any PCI-Express bus frequency over 103MHz. The mod isn't an easy task for the folks without experience in soldering, so if you need it and have to do it, make sure your soldering skills are up to the task, if you can't then just have somebody else do it for you ( a TV/Radio electronics repair shop can possibly do it for you )
  9. Can we at least ( or at last I have to say ) see a SuperPi 1M at 5600MHz with this i7 920 and a SuperPi 1M at 5700MHz or even higher with your i7 950 ?
  10. Bobby check this out babe http://www.hwbot.org/community/submission/966406_benchzowner_aquamark_geforce_8800_gt_512_mb_325112_marks
  11. I'll see if I can re-allocate some of my time and do a 323k with the same setup on air
  12. Nah, that's where his majestic 950 & 975 were made Insufficient proof for ban ( well, yet ). I wonder where our friend kurumi is nowadays.
  13. Doesn't take more than a single second to realize that it's either a bugged run or a "cheating" user
  14. Here's the playlist from that session since I had lots of people asking 'bout it
  15. Should I assume that you also sold this CPU and you can't run SuperPi 1M at 5700MHz ?
  16. I do mind my language ( and please accept my sincerest apologies for that ) but I can't tolerate cheating.
  17. Do you mind running a SuperPi 1M at 6.1GHz+ with your fantastic i7 975 ?
