  1. If somebody wants to cheat he can cheat. But screenshot only is making it way easier. How difficult do you think it is to ms paint a score and alter the cpuz numbers ?
  2. I don't trust screenshots This issue with wPrime has been going since early August if I'm not mistaken. When's RB coming back again ?
  3. Come on guys something must be done here. Dare I say "drop the whole wPrime db & start a new one with the latest version of wPrime only" ?
  4. Attention! Now that I have your attention, listen up folks: It's your time to react. A good friend of mine, Alex a.k.a. EnJoY from XtremeSystems just launched his new website called TechReaction, a portal that hosts a numerous amount of highly skilled & "famous" people for their break-throughs and quality work on various sections of our everyday interaction with our favorite hobby, the PCs and overclocking. What will you find on TechReaction ? Hardware reviews, news, articles, guides and blogs ( of all kinds ) from overclockers, cooling specialists, system builders & administrators, gamers, such as Dino a.k.a. dinos22 from Team AU, Jody a.k.a. 3oh6 from 3oh6.com, Gautam a.k.a. Gautam from XtremeSystems, Ryan a.k.a. TheGoatEater from XtremeSystems, Bill a.k.a. BenchZowner from BenchZone.com, Simon a.k.a. 64NOMIS from AMD, Brian a.k.a. Chew* from XtremeSystems, RW Keeton a.k.a. CyberDruid from waterputer.com, Scott a.k.a. nikhsub1 the "crazy watercooling guy" from XtremeSystems, etc. There's also a growing community in the forums waiting for your ideas, opinion and questions. Last but not least, the folks at AMD provided some cool Phenom II processors for a site launch give-away, visit TechReaction now, meet with wonderful & friendly people, chat about your favorite hobby and get a chance to win one of those fabulous AMD Phenom II processors. For more information about the AMD Phenom II give-away visit this page
  5. Gautam played a nasty April's fools day trick with ya
  6. I try to focus on completing the semi-completed reviews and watch some movies in my HC room Unfortunately I can't think of another forum with the same kind of population and activity of XS for Xtreme Overclocking addicts. Everybody's welcome at my place and site, but if you want to register you must first bother into fixing my forums database corruption issue that prevents you from registering ( I really need to fix that, but the reviews are on the top of the queue under high priority and full affinity
  7. Yeah, I've already reported the score and Stelaras banned the jackass from team H.O.T. It's probably a kiddie wanting to win the GOOC 2009 Greek qualifiers by cheating... well... play with the fire and you'll get burned
  8. I just said that CPU-z validations can be altered ( faked ). Everybody knows that, and I know lots of people who can do it ( if they really wanted to ). I bet I can do it too, but I don't. Can you guarantee that nobody is doing it though ?
  9. Validations mean nothing. It can be "hacked" relatively easy. 1 kidney down
  10. Our point here is performance in benchmarks, not in games. Unless HWbot has changed while I was taking a short nap.
  11. Having a chat with somebody @ FM ( not tech support or sales, higher ranked bloke ) FutureMark is NOT the ONLY company releasing benchmarks, so monopoly will NOT stand in the court of law. If you were so benchmarking addicted you wouldn't be arguing here with me, you'd be downloading vista trial version already and trying the benchmark yourself. 1) Vista: You think it's crappy, other don't. I'm not a bling guy ( don't care about shiny GUI graphics, effects & shite ), neither a fan of XP or Vista. I'm a linux & Windows Server user, because I like doing things the way I want. And these two OSs allow me to tune things my way. I've tried Vista ( not as much as I've used XP/2003/2008/Linux ) and they don't seem that bad. They have some new features that are there just for the bling factor, but there are other "enhancements" which could lead to "more productivity" for SOHO users through faster access to some stuff ( of course this requires to turn off that annoying User Account Control Shite Silly Invention ). 2) Crappy bench aka Vantage: Once again your opinion. And actually a opinion based on others words, or partial opinions, but still, you haven't tried it yourself, did you ? We got it, you don't like it, but don't try to convince everybody that it's crappy as you proudly and repeatedly say. Perhaps you could tell me if 3D Mark05 or 3D Mark06 is any better than Vantage @ Multi-GPU systems...
  12. 1) FutureMark will more than likely add the save function @ Advanced Edition 2) All those vista haters... move to linux since you don't like Microsoft and the way they do their business.
  13. 1) There's a Windows Vista trial available for download. 2) There's also something called 2nd HDD for temporary installation 3) For the very poor ppl with 1 HDD, there's also something called Imaging Software or Partitioning software. To participate in every preset category ( assuming that HWbot will support any preset apart from Performance, which is available to everyone ) you need the Advanced version, which is a measly 20$. 3D Mark2001SE with LoD looks terrible, should we NOT bench 3D Mark2001SE as well ? Oh, 3D Mark03 also looks terrible compared to 3D Mark05, should we NOT bench 3D Mark05 as well ? Hope you got my point here. http://www.microsoft.com -> Download trial version. Option 2... buy the DSP version which isn't that expensive. Option 3... beware of the one-eyed man 1) Once again, FutureMark didn't FORCED you to run their bench crap tool. But why do you keep talking about it despite the fact that you say it's crappy. 2) People were saying "We have DirectX 10 cards, but no DX10 benchmarks". Well, here you go. Now don't tell me that you didn't knew that you need a operating system with the DirectX 10 API to run a DirectX 10 application. 1) Moving to Vista doesn't force you or require you to run or buy 3D Mark Vantage. Is it ? 2) You're losing the water again. Why should we care if Microsoft or FutureMark make money out of this ? Well well... no I didn't buy the professional license, it was given to me because of my hobby/job. But that doesn't play any part at all in what I'm saying. My opinion would be exactly the same without this license.
  14. Why should HWbot NOT include 3D Mark Vantage ? Because most people will not use it ? That's not the way to go, and definitely not logical. You guys are also complaining about the points, how rich ppl will gain more points than you with Vantage, etc. First of all, if you're doing it just for the points, then you should take a break, and think why are you doing this, and if there's a point in doing this. You're looking at the ocean but you can't see the water. p.s. If that's the case, let's remove PC Mark 05 because only rich people with iRAMs & SSDs can get to the top. Let's also remove 3D Mark03 as well because it requires 3+ GPUs to get close to the top. And let us also delete HWbot and kill Fred for his stupid idea :-p You don't like 3D Mark Vantage ? Fine. Don't run it. Nobody's forcing you to do so. But don't try to force the rest to follow your way, and don't ask ppl to include 3dmv but not gaining any points. It's your decision not to run this bench. Others like and want to, and find dedication and excitement into benching this one as well. Do you have the right to tell them not to, or that their efforts aren't worth any points ?
  15. 100% agreed. First of all, Quad SLI & Quad CF will "show" their power ( and not go wasted ) on "High". Triple SLI, CrossFire-X 3GPU also shine on "High" but also share some improvements on "Performance", and single cards like Entry the most, also entry is the most tweakable preset. Add all 3 ( Entry, Performance, High ) and award points for all 3. P.S. People complaining about Vista... 1) Quad-SLI, and Quad CF work only in Vista, 2) Quad-SLI/Quad-CF 3D Mark03 runs are done in Vista, 3) wPrime runs faster in Vista/2008, 4) You're not forced to run this benchmark, and you're not forced to run Vista as well. The "If I can't get it, why let him get it" attitude sucks, grow up and learn better ways. Some people would rather see others fall, than gain a thing. That's pathetic & really sad.
  16. Full Review here, with CPU Cores & Frequency Scalling, and RAM Timings scalling - here As for my vote... I'll have to think about it before I hit the button. But first I need to relax, been working 17 hours per day lately.
  17. You can find the charts here: http://www.benchzone.com/Charts/3D_Mark_Vantage The review shall be online in 1 hour or so.
  18. CPU Cores Scalling, CPU Frequency Scalling, RAM Performance & Timings scalling, and more charts coming in 57 minutes
  19. Add it, and award points. The preset should be discussed thoroughly though before making a conclusion. I'm currently finishing the review of Vantage, and I've done & still doing some tests to see what's affecting what in Vantage, which preset is most suitable for what, etc. I'm testing CPU Cores scalling, RAM Timings & Performance scalling, and more. Details later on, embargo is still in effect. -- My vote/s and opinion shall be cast & expressed later on today --
  20. Make sure you use the same drivers, as with the 9800GX2 drivers there are several differences in performance at CH & N between different driver versions.

  23. Hi guys, Just noticed that one of my old runs was blocked for insufficient verification. After moving my site to another server I forgot to re-upload that specific screenshot. I've just edited the result & re-uploaded the screenshot. Could you please unblock it ? Here's the result: http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=593721
  24. You need to download and install FutureMark's System Info HotFix February 2008. It's on futuremark's website
