Total lack of communication. No will to consider things, at least think about it. Paraphrasing what I said or coming to conclusions that I didn't come up with and saying that that's what I'm saying. I give up.

Mind if I bench a 512 SP GTX 480 with it as well ? So, you think "Money & Connections" is the way to go for HWbot and the overclocking league...
-
Let's just take it to the next step then. I am the man, I have somebody in Intel, I ask for a 28nm ES with a 980X identification string and play with that in the 6 core category because... I can You should buy one too, just find the connection

1) Q3FE's are VERY VERY rare, and who would sell a good Q3FE ? I bet you won't find any ( Q3FE/Q3QP ) off e-bay/etc that clocks over 6.3GHz ( you might as well find a sub 6.2GHz chip ). 2) Q3QP's & Q3FE's die relatively easy, so, who would spend a grand in a part that comes without any kind of warranty and can die in a few minutes or hours of testing ? 3) If you have to go through 300 retail 980X's to find one that can bench SuperPi 1M at just 6.3GHz you think it's still fair to allow the ES's ?

Non-PRO users can save unlimited projects, but have only 1 published per 3D Mark.

We spend hundreds of dollars in hardware, why can't we spend 50$ in software that we run over and over again ?
-
Sure, why not I was talking about the programs with a validation feature. Although, that's a great idea. We should create new versions of the benchmarks and have an online validation system integrated
-
Not that I don't trust massman, but why should I show a "hack" to another person. There are several ways to make an ES look like a retail CPU in every program. First of all, if it was my decision to make, I would make having an online validation/score link ( ORB compare URL ) MANDATORY for every entry, not just the top 20. Both validations and screenshots can be fiddled with and "cooked" to show whatever a clever ( I said clever, not smart and ethic ) person wants to. Yeah, the crazy retail I tried today was awesome and I stopped crying... 5790MHz max SuperPi 1M... coldbug at -156C... great CPU

Come on man, you're better than misunderstanding what I say. I'm talking about the very few worthy people in the scene. I wouldn't mention any names because I'd have to mention all of them, but as an example, I can guarantee you that SF3D would never publish a score obtained with an ES processor as if it was obtained with a retail CPU.

Well, we all know who has benched at what freqs with Q3FEs & Q3QPs Plus most of the well known at least benchers with those ESs don't do such things.
-
Why would I ever want to show people how to cheat CPU-z and other programs to show their ES as retail ? I will never ever use or share a cheat or any kind of """""tweak"""""" that can be used to exploit benchmarks/overclocking.
-
Is it legit ? I for one can't trust OPB & coolaler anymore. p.s. You do know that you can make an E.S. show up as a retail chip, don't ya
-
I will try to do that for ya in a few hours with a couple of CPUs
-
But still far away from 6GHz Vantage, and those crazy 6500+ Pi 1M...
-
Let's see a really good retail first. I have yet to see a SuperPi 1M @ 6.3G with a retail chip.

Sad that ES is needed to compete these days

They don't clock as well as the Q3FEs & good Q3QPs do, other than that nada ( nothing ). I'd exclude the Q3QPs & Q3FEs. The rest E.S. seem to be very close to the retail B1 stepping in terms of overclocking, so it wouldn't be nice for the "buyers" to block those too. -

Q3FEs are nowhere to be found. Q3QPs have lower chances of hitting that crazy clocks you've seen. And both die in a short period of time with extreme overclocking. And you also need to realize that you are splashing out 1000$+ for a product that might die soon and has no warranty at all. The guys who have the good clocking Q3FEs/Q3QPs didn't spend a dime getting them, they are samples. -

We're also talking about people who buy those 5-5 or even 10-10, and some others who RMA them more than... often 2 months should be more than sufficient if 1.5 month doesn't sound good enough. There are at least 50 users who'll buy a 980X during the launch day, and more definitely another 100 in April. -

I'm with the wait option. If in 1-1.5 month from now nobody with a retail 980X manages to bench vantage at 6.2GHz I think it's safe to say that the Q3FE & a few Q3QP samples are far superior than the retail B1 980X's and they need to be excluded.
