  1. I've experienced this in some situations. But why would you want to set voltage with both afterburner and evc? When I use it I disable the option for voltage control/monitoring in afterburner. Or you can enable afterburner simply by disconnecting the cable to the evc.
  2. Yes, I don't have the full datasheet but it should be similar to other CHIL controllers. Can you do a device scan for me?

    eVc ordering

    Sure, sent you guys PMs
  4. Hmm, no I2C control meaning there's probably a current source/sink chip with such an interface connected to it. Are there any other ic's around?
  5. Yup, correct. SV-pins are for AMD Serial VID-interface (SVI). Which VRM controller? The I2C pins should be the same as on later version since they are all supported by evbot.
  6. Should be correct, thanks. Those four tiny black resistors are connected to SDA/SCL. Works with 780L profile!
  7. Please do the following: 1. Connect the SDA (pin 46), SCL (pin 47) of the SHE ASP0907 and ground to the 580. 2. Open eVc v1b3 and select Menu then Register scan. 3. Scan Address 46 from 1 to FF before setting voltage with Smart Doctor and after. Preferably also when setting a different voltage (like first 1.2v then 1.3v) 4. Send me the logs Please use this version of SmartDoctor: http://elmor.se/files/SmartDoctor_580dcuII.zip
  8. More info and download links: http://elmorlabs.com/index.php/2013-12-19/new-evc-beta-software-driver/ If you have one of the following: MSI GTX680/770 Lightning MSI GTX780 Lightning MSI HD7870 HAWK Generic VT1165 Generic uP6208 Generic NCP81022 please try it and give me some feedback! I only have the HD7870 HAWK to test with myself at the moment.

Depends on the controller Currently for Chil-controllers you can set loadline and fixed/offset mode. Other things that are possible depending on the circumstances are switching frequency, active phases and OVP/OCP levels. The monitoring capabilities are also interesting, where you can see vrm temperature, input/output current and voltages, sometimes even per phase.

    eVc ordering

First mass produced samples are now here so I'll be sending out PM's shortly! (biggest changelog: Power LED!) Alpha version of eVc:
  11. http://i.imgur.com/0vun543.jpg (picture from Techpowerup) If I remember correctly the top spots (the three soldering spots in a row) are not connected, but please check if they can be used first since they're a lot easier to solder. Otherwise you have to solder on the two resistors close to the VRM controller.
  12. Sorry, I was away for the weekend. I'll try to find a suiting picture to show the spots.

Devices being shipped from China as we speak
  14. If anyone still has problems, try this: 1. Download zadig http://sourceforge.net/projects/libwdi/files/zadig/ (note there's a different version for XP) 2. Run the application with the eVc connected to the PC 3. Select WinUSB driver and install 4. Now the driver should be correctly installed

Working on uP6208 and VT1165 at the moment.

The next batch is being produced in China as we speak. Sure, shouldn't be a problem.
  17. Cool, let me know how it goes!
  18. Hey guys, anyone tried the device yet? I'm really interested in making it work with currently unsupported cards like for example the Galaxy 780/780Ti HOF. (Ref: http://forum.hwbot.org/showthread.php?t=88419)

    eVc ordering

Quick update. So I've ordered 100pcs from the factory but due to Paypal being idiots they have limited my account at the moment = the factory will hold my order until that is resolved. Eta for this batch is in 1-2 weeks if all works out. Still mini-USB contact but now with power on-led

    eVc ordering

I was considering Micro-USB at first, but it's hard to hand-solder which is why I chose Mini-USB. If the PCBA service can handle it though I can change it (they should be).

    eVc ordering

If I have to pre-flash the chip and order all components I might as well solder the rest too. I'm working on getting quotes from PCBA services right now so I will have the devices delivered already assembled. Should have that batch in 1-2 months, would be for minimum 100 units. Quick question about the USB connector. Which kind do you guys prefer? 1. Currrent version with Mini USB-connector 2. Exactly the same but with Micro USB instead 3. USB Male connector directly on the PCB (USB-stick style)
  22. The eVc device uses the 2-wire/I2C/SMBus interface to communicate with the VRM controllers on the graphics card. This interface works by using two signals (Data/SDA and Clock/SCL) plus a ground reference (Ground/GND), in total three connections. These points can be found by checking the datasheet of the VRM controller (the ground reference can be any ground point on the graphics card). If you have a card you suspect can work with this device, feel free to post in this thread to get help adding support for it. MSI HD7970/GTX680/GTX770/GTX780 Lightning Connect the corresponding soldering points at the bottom left
