what version of the Bios and MEI is everyone using when these issues are experienced on the GD65? you can see your MEI version under settings -> system status if you upgraded the bios, what method did you follow?

no solution but EXACTLY the same issue again tonight 3rd board. Main bios started with 39x max and no 266 memory strap switch to other bios and all was good until game over bios options before vs after sent the last board into the distro for assistance and they do not have a solution.

yeah, 1core, 2 cores, 4 cores, HT on HT off. Its not an issue anymore the board no longer works. It just gives a d3 (or 3d cant remember exactly) post code now. Oh yeah one other thing to note. The Blue LED next to the bios was on for both bios A and bios B

Z77A-GD65 was working perfectly reset bios to stock before the end of the session now it is stuck at MAX 39x Tried to flash 10.3 and 10.5, removed OC profiles, reset with jumper, bios a bios b, new chip old chip same story. OCGene max is now 37x. was 42x eish!

yeah overkill indeed there is more in the CPU, just not with the ln2 and time I had to play with.

yes Verification link is still required and the free version can be used as long as you are using the right version (v360_1901) press escape at the CPU test's to skip.

I really enjoyed the point spread for this comp, I challenged myself to try and get the 11th place in each cat and it was a lot of fun.. it really is not as easy as you think to aim for 11th place and my last run in the 4 core cat finished with only minuets to go until the end of the comp. Thanks for a fun challenge HWbot and well done to every one who took part.

with the free version of 03 you can not save a validation file and upload it later or from a 2nd PC with internet connectivity so now I am busy reinstalling windows on the bench rig to check if a link is provided or if it just "compares" your score (03 crashed on my main rig in GT1 lol)

Hey Massman, What was the Max clock you were able to get out of the CPU with this board? Tried for 3 days and just cant get past the 4.6 that overclock assistant gives you. now I Just tested the same CPU on two other boards. Rampage is DOA so cant comment there but P9X79 Pro second boot 4.7 6c12t (and 5.2 2c2t using your bin method) just wondering if you had the same difficulties with the Intel board.

It's "complicated" but to sum it up, there was a difference in opinion and some of us with bad timing were just collateral damage
