Yes, there are eight DDR3 chips. It's not same card used in guide, that one could not overclock better than 1050 on memory, no matter what I guess it's early sample of this card. Have only single DVI+TVout and 4-pin power connector onboard. As you can clearly see on photo - uses 8600GT SKU

Hi, fellow overclockers! I prepared some guide for those who want to try external power devices In this case - it's ES Untouchable cards, which will be available for sale soon. But all steps apply to any external VRM connected to 8600GT's exactly same way, so I post here. 8600GT is very easy card to try external power, and also benefits from it noticeable.

I don't think that frequency adjustments will pay any role on such GPU. But you can try youself, your idea is correct.

I may take part in competition just to encourage people to learn more and modify their cards in more ways. Of course I have more capabilities to push vga to it's max than overclockers, but I will not share anything related to internal stuffs, so my scores would not be for prizes, if you meant that. Btw, I even may give away EVGA Untouchable to best performed modification on 8600GT during this contest, if I get impressed So do your best and show us results.
