  1. I wonder if the Z77 story continues here ... with cheapest board (Gene/Impact) being the best RAM clocker and Extreme being the worst
  2. People from rest of world have an unfair advantage of having access to higher ambients, which helps HTT on s939 ... so let's ban them as well, while we're at it!
  3. I think the current ES/non-ES rules are laid out in a very sensible manner. If someone wants to use Haswell (=current-gen) ES - welcome to the Pro OC cup where people also have access to quad-Titan and octa-CPU configs ... and let us please not discuss what is fair and what is not in an "everything goes" sort of competition (which the Pro OC cup is).
  4. Samsung is not as good for raw frequency as Hynix (single-sided MFR in particular). Might be a cpufreq/IMC limit as well.
  5. how the hell did cold get even to the SATA ports?
  6. this could as well have been strap 200, you never know
  7. I thought he had higher valids with some other sticks, no?
  8. just wondering, do you get all these CPUs via German ebay?
  9. why not execute it in such a way that haters won't have any ground for asking such questions? or, another random idea - why not let it run for three weeks and then let it close when activity falls below certain threshold? (measured in, say, new competitors or results per unit of time)
  10. Why not make a competition end at 'random' (at least non-publically-known) time? Say, let it run for 3 weeks and end at 'random' time during the fourth one. This way all the sandbaggers will upload their results at the end of 3rd week, and diehard-hollywood-last second benchers will have all the info plus some extra adrenaline from the competition being able to end on any second
  11. Isn't this what the new two-stage is actually for? Though they might have slightly overdone it by making stages way too long...
  12. another random idea: http://hwbot.org/country/league Why not rank countries in a similar way team are ranked, i.e. by CPP (country power points, analogous to TPP) + UP total / 10 ? ... unless, of course, it's too difficult to implement
  13. There is no objective way to compare pots across all platforms (low/high coldbug, low/high heatload) and all scenarios (low/high delta between benchable temp, CB and CBB) - it's mostly down to personal preference, really.
  14. tweak it, and it won't be 19 minutes anymore
  15. random idea: http://hwbot.org/league/hardware_masters would it be possible to rank people only by their 2D and 3D hardware points? (say, by clicking on "2D points" or "3D points" texts)
  16. I guess staff are currently too busy 'making love with Intel' since they can't be bothered to fix site issues, let alone someone's personal ones.
