Of course chipset drivers is necessary and i can not imagine what win98 install instead them. But I can not run my GF6800U512Mb on NV40 which is natively AGP, any attempt to install different drivers ended a hang of all system. I do not have a NV45 card may be case in it. But it is possible to run Sandy, Ivy etc on Win98 it is true.

Have the same hardware and clocks but have only 7814 marks, difference in 1K marks on software tweaks is incredible.

OK, on this screenshot is only 25K marks I'll have tried to overclock cpu and vcard but, think PCI-E bus works as PCI, not sure about other devices think they are emulated and something limited total performance. But Win98 on 2600K works good, but not so fast as on LGA775.

lanbonden I'm run on Socket AM2+ with 2GB DDR2 no probs, but from 1155 Norhbridge go to the cpu core, and there is no native PCI bus, no AGP. On AMD platform is possible to run, but E8400 on 4.8-5Ghz will be faster AMD. I'm interesting from LGA1155, because Sandy easily goes to 5Ghz.

So I see that GF8 series nobody's run. About launch of Radeon X1950, does any proof link or screenshot exist in the web? And does somebody see that is possible to run in Win98 GF8 series or ATI X19xx and 1155 Socket or better? Think it is impossible, there is no any driver for something better then GF79xx. I can't run PCI-E GF6800U 512mb on NV40, because it is native agp gpu, and NV45 I do not have. Can we ask Mr. Jen-Hsun Huang write driver-pack for win98SE? GTX1080 will perfect choise for this
