What ??? It is NOT oldschool, It is SERVER parts! Once again ? and once, why? For the last years of OSiBS we overclock so many times: AMD-K6, S462, S-939, S771/775 and modern... which is not oldschool imho. Think it will be Enough. last Old School I do not participate, Quadro+LGA771 makes me angry. And I propose to change the conception of OSiBS: - Do not take SOCKET as criterian, lets take cores, for example S462 all time all used fastest Barton and mobile, lets take Thunderbird core or Palomino it also S462. It will be more useful for filling the HWBot database which is luck of thise results. Also it takes SLOT 1, lets take the first and slowlest core - Klamath and overclock it! Thing it is more interesting then overclock top P2-450. Think the aidea is clear. ! Multithreaded benchmarks on True OSiBS. Wprime32 on: 1.Socket8 CPU - there is opportunity to use from 2 to 8!! Pentium Pro. 2. Socket5/7 - is also something fresh i think. ! Real OLD HW Socket 3 lets try 80486 family CPU's: Mystic Cyrix or ordinary Intel DX's or AMD DX4 (NOT DX5 which it all used for previous OSiBS (pi32 test)) ! Socket4 ! wery hard and wery interesting socket, there are about 3-4 different chipsets on this socket and about 3 cpu's. ! S370, is not only Taulatin core lets try Cyrix/IBM, IDT winChip 1/2, VIA. think old shchool si something not higher then S-939 and 478, above is legasy.

I have read future task competition and saw that in some tests its need to get 2 and 3 results from the Team. Is it possible to change the rules so that only one better result is enough? Hi to all. I like to overclocking the old-retro HW, but the last championship I did not participate, because the championship became boring, monotonous, repetitive and as result not interesting for me. I thought for a long time and would like to share my thoughts of the future of the Old School is Best School competition and those tasks that can be used in the future. Last 1st stage on my opinion was not true School LGA771+Quadro is terrible mix of specific hardware. LGA771 As an option, I still admit that it possible use, but professional nVIdia Quadro video cards are already overkill imho. In round 4 (2017) we as previous time used Great Socket 462, but each time from competition to next competition the tasks are reduced to the choice of using top-performance processor. Which are Barton, mobile athlon and geode. It's already getting boring. There are a lot of interesting S462 cores and it will be more interesting to try overclock for example 1st S462 cpu's on Thunderbird core, or hot Palomino. This introduced a variety of competitions and filled the database with new results. Next 5th stage - Hwbot prime for socket5/7. The idea of this task is sounds great. But it is not complete until the end. After all, no one used the processors on the socket 5. Strange? All has made his choice to AMD K6-2+ and 3+ and nothing more. It will be more interesting to choose hwbotprime or wprime32 as Multithreaded cpu test and limit hardware by Inel cpu. It will be possible to use two-sockets 5 and 7 motherboards and make tuning operations for windows and so on or extremly overclock one P-1 cpu. Also good aidea to use this Multithreaded cpu test on Socket8 where is possible to use from 2 to 8 cps! I will be very glad to see that somebody use ALR Revolution 6x6 or something powerfull and fill hwbot database with new results. The other my aideas is based on non TOP HW. It possible to try different cpu cores and overclock them. For example to choose first and hottest Pentium2 on Klamath core (in all pentium 2 competition all is used P2-450) or Slot1 P-3 Katmai cpu. Also, for unknown to me reason, it avoids the use cpu's on Socket3 thre are a lot of interesting cpu on it. On Socket7 as usual takes only AMD and Intel why do not choose Cyrix/IBM, IDT winChip 1/2? On socket370 is rulled Pentium III-S Taulatin 512K lets try Celeron overclocking competition or VIA. It was a small part of my thoughts about cpu in Old School may it woild be helpfull. OK, I have never try to overclock on my M6E anything, I have only two g3258 and 2 ram 2800 kits. So I start bench oll hw first time. But I know that my one DDR3 kit runs on 3ghz, but it doesnot run on my g3258 even on defaults. I have wrote many faq, tips and do the same, but unsuccess ((. It is my first acquaintance with haswell and MFR. I have try with one stick but in my situation think something wrong :0 I have also used mfr presets in ram settings in uefi M6E.

I have a problem while overclocking G3258 (i have 2 cpus one binned for oc, 2-d ordinary) on Asus Maximus 6 Extreme (Z87 - use latest bios) and pair kits Corsair Vengeance 2800Mhz (hynix MFR). I can't run any pair in any ram slots on default 2800mhz on any of my g3258. Settings Vcore 1.10-1.25 air 3.2-4.2ghz, VCSSA 1.25V, VIO A/D 1.25V, Vmem 1.65-1.75V. I have used XMP, and manual timings even 15-15-15-2T and nothing Board doen't boot normally. I heared than G3258 have not good IMC for memory overclocking, is it true? Or case in something else :0 I do not have any -K cpus I know that one ram set can run on 3ghz, but only one stick is possible to run on 2800.
