The riser thought is interesting and I imagine it would pose problems with both power and latency issues, however I have no evidence to say either way so I have no idea. I don't like to go above 1.7V on my 4930K personally but I'm sure it would be fine at a little higher. But I think the voltage issue is more related to the temps you're at too, with LN2 of course you will be able to push much further.

What have I done, I've created a monster D:

First up is my ASRock Z87 OC Formula. Never really used it much, was used to test a few graphics cards and I also had a brief sub zero bench session with it on DICE and have never used it since. Has some small pieces of putty left on the board around the CPU socket, but of course this is just aesthetics and does not effect the performance of the board in any way at all. Comes in its original box with all the accessories including a tube of GC Extreme. Looking for £170 inc postage - NOW £160 I'm also selling my trusty old Sabertooth 990FX board which is prepped and ready for sub zero benching. Not really much to say about it really other than it has been a solid board for me and has been used once on LN2 and a few times on DICE. This is just the board and I have no accessories or IO plate unfortunately. I don't really want to take off the putty since I'm hoping an extreme overclocker might want to buy it, however I can take it off at the buyers request. Note - The CPU is not included with the board and I removed it after taking the picture Looking for £75 inc postage. - NOW SOLD Any questions then please feel free to ask Edit : Forgot to say that included poastage is to the UK only, postage elsewhere is extra.

On a side note from this, is it likely that the new Pentium K series will be the best DRAM overclockers when they come out with they have the extra straps available to them?

What would class as a competitive OC team though since big teams like OCN have a lot of Extreme overclockers and quite a few enthusiasts too. Whereas my team only has 6 members and 5 of them are in the extreme league.

Not too sure. But if they perform anything like the ones I have here they should be able to get 2666C8 with 1.88V or maybe 1.92V of needed. I quite like them to be honest

It might be that your laptop is getting too hot and throttling your speeds a little which is giving you a worse score. In XTU the graphics card doesn't make a difference since it's a CPU test. Also why do you need 32GB of ram? 16GB should be plenty and there is no point throwing your money away.

No longer after a CPU but I need a 1156 motherboard now.
