  1. Nice Has this benchmark got a bug when you have to change time/date every 23:59:59 hours?
  2. I can't explain this. Seems like motherboard turned on after 2:3 (FSB:MEM) set. Then was overclocking flawesly and I thaught that I'll record a videos. After this I wasn't able to reproduce the score because of motherboard decided that exacly the same settings will now work as 4:3 (FSB:MEM). How... But anyway I learned something I have never seen before. Sorry for the mess. I have new conclusions, correct me if I'm wrong: 1. Cache ECC cheching is giving absoultely nothing and might be usefull when long SPI32 run 2. Q.deph 1 is slow 4 is fast (I never was looking at this option thinking it's something not with performance) 3. enabling every option in memset on solano platform and 2-2-2-5 and 15us refresh is the fastest setting 4. good mems is the fundamental thing! 5. Hard disks are crashing at >60-70 MHz PCI clock and some AGP cards are strong *6. It might be need to solder a CMOS divider to divide PCI and AGP clocks... Hmm clock integrity... Maybe it will work
  3. That was my first idea when you expressed your doubts. I wanted to run SPI at the same FSB settings and see what will happen. Ok here are some screenshots: 1. The screenshot from the video 2. The screenshot 133:100 a the same settings heck, seems like a bug How else can I explain that? But it means that CPUz has a strange algorithm(?) Well newest version has number of improvements like XOC (and useless bench option) but eg. is saving screenshots at wrong CPU-Frequency-values.BMP when pressing F5. I made some calculations and if the CPU frequency is for example 1653 MHz, filename will be cpu-526.bmp. 1653/526=PI... what the?! I don't blame anybody, maybe it's a bug. I will delete this submission today if after more tests I find it buggy or wrong. Gradus I can send you newest ABIT bioses. yesterday I found a good way to get those from internet.
  4. - spi on SDRAM 255MHz. What is going on? I can't make it again... I tried even record a new vid. @gradus try ST6 9P bios. I can send you that ver 2002/07/03 (yyyy/mm/dd). Works normally with 66:100 but I still can't do this again.
  5. I wanted to do it again, I can not see that PCI /2 thing. What did I do when ocing?! Maybe U have right with some bug. But I even recorded SPI 1 M Video... I think PCI is limitting me. Tried with MX440-8x card but goes upto AGPCLK>70 MHz or somewhere like that.
  6. My mistake. I used XOC=0. Now I'm using XOC=1 and it says "unchecked".
  7. Thanx gradus, I'll try. @terra here you have all about my new qimonda I choosen not the best motherboard without mods and on AIR. Will try on ST6.
  8. I will try this. My AMD K5 PR75 submission was <24 hrs, so it makes sense. Thanks for interest and help. @UP Thanks Yes I have got more time will watch this, look funny.
  9. When I repair my singlestage 1-2 months reason: no money, I'm studying, sorry. My Qimondas were not able to work on TUSL2, anybody had problems with them on ASUS solano(815) mobos? Abit SA6R working fine with 'em.
  10. What bug? Wow It's beeing more interesting MemSET thing or bios bug or something else?
  11. I crapped the Batman's Reveange. Mobo was struggling to take me away from setup. Even after a long play with "write protection" "setup enable" "password" jumpers no possibility to setup. I decided to reflash the bios but 1st I had to desolder this. After programming I soldered it wrongly, so I had to desolder flash chip... but destroted soldering pad so I had to put it +90 degrees and solder wires. It also didn't helped. Mobo is crapped. Very very sad 4 me //EDIT// Please use contact-cleaner to MEMS and maybe vCORE mod. Take a look at my AMD PR75 score. I used 4.5 V and TEC cooling. It made system ultra stable. //EDIT// What do you say, ludek? And there is still possibility to shave some kBy... and I believe that the last running service is not need anyway, so... there is room for optimizing damn you're good It that 16bit desktop? Using NVIDIA GF4/5 cards I seen less ram usage when 32bit colour set. Which services you left working? I always left 8 (Plug and play, 2 Hard disk services, event log, hid, task skedule and 2 or 3 "important" services) (or nine?). //EDIT!!'/// But wait. If you turn ON pagefile, the amount of memory is incorrect. Turn off the pagefile and then tell me the numbers
  12. Well........ Guess what just hapened?! I was looking from time to time at the 486 display and... Blank colour of desktop was the thing I seen. I was so happy to see this: But just 1-2 hours later it crashed :( WHYYYY?!?!? Is there a bug in windows guts? It the aplication - CPU time limitation to 24 hrs or something? I do not understand this crap. Enough time waisting for this month. At least I did SPI1M and pifast benchmarks
  13. I use XOC=1 so I don't know... On my today;s submissions says "validated". Solano is so good platform Another motherboard in my collection the Abit SA6R. That epox 3PTA maybe fly as good as TUSL2 but subzero needed If blowen caps has got 5% of manufacturer's declarated capacity was bad, but (shock!) is was POSTing without problems. Recapped using 2.5 V caps, will see if they blown when "extreme oc" will come
  14. I think I give up... I tried lots of stuff. 486 is not validable. CPU-z works on Windows 2K - big thanks to RomanLV for idea! I have funny little Socket4 mobo. It's "Intel Batman's Reveange" LOL. Please take a look at it: LINK http://abload.de/img/adrklq.jpg. Sadly the BIOS was corrupted and I tried everything!!! Here is a photo what I had to do because of clock is ticking and I had no PLCC socket
  15. I just want to let you know that this thread is still alive LINK Extremely slow Num-Lock response video. Warning! Action starts at 2:10 min It took almost 2 minutes to react to pressed numlock button... horrible I give you advice. If running such slow system it's good to clean all slots eg. EDO ram slots, mems connections, CPU pin grid array and the socket and power connector also. Here i call it "contact spray". It's the best and I don't see any high frequency issues when I do not clean cleaner-residues on cpu. It's stable as a table. do not give up and wish me luck when taking screen shot. I forgot connect UPS. Hope that power station does not fail... Hardcore begins
  16. @Gradus, @Terra, @michaeln and to others olschool ocers. It looks like we have another good motherboard on "want to buy" list michaelnm I want you to beat this score, come on, possible on AIR and you have valid at 166 MHz chipset. Use CPUFSB program (http://www.cpufsb.de/FSB.HTM) to OC under Windows.
  17. And please take a look, what I found LINK What is the oldest platform to run what windows version...
  18. I'm fighting with Win 2K now. It's possible to install this on 486 platform and it's a way better than NT4.0 (wow USB support). After ~5-6 days of struggling, trial and crosses... I discovered that W2K SP4 is not able to be installed because of "sp4.cab" file: "The following value in the .SIG file used by setup is corrupt or missing: Value 0 on the line in section [ SourceDisksFile ] with key "sp4.cab." Setup cannot continue. To quit setup, press F3. " Clean w2k is installing nicely on this platform and maybe I'll be able to run CPUz WinNT was so annoying. Win 2K has caused even more problems but they was more obvious and solvable. Drivers missing, too small partition size, unstable system, non-ACPI devices and more others, but I choosed W2K as a good old-school system. It takes more than well-cutted XP, but it's good enough.
  19. Finally you did it ! Why so anormous amount of mem?! 128 would be great even without pagefile Congrats my friend. How much mem is used by system when displaying desktop? I was able to reach 49 MB on XP with pagefile off
  20. First, my system is unstable. Its memory issues or CF card is hmm... too fast? I don't know, wasted so much time. Maybe will try again. NTFS format appears to work better and faster, but causes problems if I connect CF card to another PC with modern OS. Then it destroys filesystem and I'm forced to instal NT again :( FAT is slower but less problems with copying data. Please take a look to any SPI 32 MB score. In most (?every) case it takes 256 MB of memory. Disk usage is 8 times than that or more. Note that if running 1 mb spi, it writes 8 MB of data in SPI folder. I think that amount of data written on hard drive is 8 times of choosen sample or more. I don't remember exacly but maybe 128 MB x 8 is written to complete SPI32M calculations. 1GB CF card was able to handle this when I was doing SPI32 on AMD K5 (in my HWB scores). Connect another hard drive just for pagefile, another for SPI and it might be good if another is for system. 3 discs all shall be good. I don't know if any service pack is giving something more to performance. I have enough of NT4.0 but I must say it's fast for SPI and takes tiny amount of system resources. Keep pushing!!
