I bench 2-point golds under LN2, after already taking the gold medal sometimes by 20-30% on air or watercooling. You clearly do not understand what motivates me.

Bump! Still looking for a V2 This is HWB..... SOMEONE must have one!
-
@Yamunsa Enough members of the community asked for this that HWB considered it worthwhile. Blame everyone who asked for it. That includes me. Why should people be given a load of points just for running a bench at stock MHz, with almost no competition? Who cares how long it takes to set up or tweak. I spent 6 hours yesterday trying to enable SLI. I saw so many BSODs, I thoughtI needed to have my eyes checked. Have I made a thread asking for more points as a reward for all my effort? So....what would you suggest? Flip the points around? 2-pointers are now worth 50? SOMETHING has to be at the bottom. The least-used hardware seems like a sensible choice to me.

Unicorns don't exist. Another fucking lie, I am so sick of it. :D

Allowing 24 hours while the database & algorithm sort themselves out changes nothing. Assume everyone is affected in the same way. If there was a seeding deadline that passed while the re-calculation is still happening, you would have a point (and there would be uproar!) but....there isn't. Seriously, even if you submit 1000 scores that took 3 years, 24 hours is nothing. Go and bench something. The leaderboards are still up-to-date, you know what MHz and scores to aim at

Maybe the engine needs more time to finish calculating and updating. Any complaints within 24 hours are (IMO) too hasty.

Haswell 4670K/4770K Batch and Serial Numbers
K404 replied to Massman's topic in Haswell (Z87/Z97) OC
Sure, give me 30 minutes (I know... it doesn't take that long, but i'm chilled) Done! 2.20vRin didn't help at all. I started at 1.60vRin and worked up, made no difference at all to MHz. I *did* notice that at low vRin, it was hard to get into BIOS to change settings- it kept freezing, even though it would boot and run SPi no problem I missed one BIOS setting before, this chip is 4.9GHz @ 1.375. Haswell 4670K/4770K Batch and Serial Numbers
K404 replied to Massman's topic in Haswell (Z87/Z97) OC
Hey Vivi I airtest at 1.85vRIN. At this load, I don't think PWM is any kind of bottleneck. Hell... My board doesn't even have it's PWM heatsink on it, the PWM is cool to the touch. There's enough correlation between MHz & volts that I can writeoff everything that needs >1.40v for 5GHz. I'm not in a position to LN2 test everything -

L310B488 2C/2T. 4.9GHz 32M @ 1.375v. 5.0GHz = BSOD -
I wouldn't ask for something that wouldn't boost scores
-
I am in two minds over a lot of things Part of me wants to push scores and MHz... part of me is ok with letting old-school things stay old-school, with limits that NO-ONE gets around
-
HyperSLI helps force SLI on older cards/older drivers. I don't mind the idea that there is a cap/ limitation/cutoff and we will not be seeing new scores in certain categories any more. Maybe some things should stay in the past or on hardware from the past.

Accurate Reading of Haswell IGP Clock When Overclocking With GPU-Z
K404 replied to Massman's topic in Haswell (Z87/Z97) OC
+1 with Bassplayer. I've suggested that before. I include it with my Kepler results (few as they are) but I can't tell if I have terrible efficiency or not... most people state & show 1250MHz etc. Anyway.... topic for another time Thanks PJ! -
I thought every result MUST have a screenshot? "2.1. General verification rules Underneath you will find the links to all the different benchmarks, which contain the specific rules for each benchmark. Read them through and you’ll find them to be very easy to remember. In fact, most of you will only have to pay attention to one or two rules, because the other rules are so obvious. In general: For Futuremark benchmarks (3DMark/PCMark): top 20 global (HOF) requires a valid FM ORB verification link For CPU-Z: only valid verification links All benchmarks require a validation screenshot, unless specified otherwise"

Haswell 4670K/4770K Batch and Serial Numbers
K404 replied to Massman's topic in Haswell (Z87/Z97) OC
@1.92v, it might not be for long Good to know your problem is....not a problem I hope my CPU has the same recovery -
If the iGPU is overclockable, then the -R- is the chip to have. The 4770K can't overcome the difference through CPU power, so it comes down to that one question.

Interesting! (From Anand:) Crystalwell is only offered alongside quad-core GT3 Haswell. Unlike previous generations of Intel graphics, high-end socketed desktop parts do not get Crystalwell. Only mobile H-SKUs and desktop (BGA-only) R-SKUs have Crystalwell at this point. Given the potential use as a very large CPU cache, it’s a bit insane that Intel won’t even offer a single K-series SKU with Crystalwell on-board. Laptop Vs desktop Vs (OEM BGA + locked chip) Iris Pro is OEM only and.... from what I can see... not available yet.

OCP mods: work better if they're applied to a card and not just examined in pictures on the internet.
-
Hang on a sec..... what's default vCore on Haswell? Isn't stock vRIN 1.80v? If so, that's a difference of > 0.5v immediately.
-
I heard vRIN should be 2x vCore for as long as possible? That's the info I had to hand for the launch event and i've been using that rule ever since. I was following the thought that it was the input voltage to the mobo PWM and was quite disconnected from the CPU-side..... similar idea to the 12v rail of a PSU. High input voltage to clean the signal and minimise losses, low voltage out. ....I didn't have any whitepapers to hand though.....

I'll add some more insulation to the first DIMM slot, it can't hurt Thanks.
