Benchmarks should be platform agnostic. Doesnt seem in the spirit of a "cheap" comp if you need the latest platform to be competitive 6870 is a good alternative to 4870 imo. Bother are good options -

I think (at least for this year) a two week break between competitions was not enough. The argument for moving CC is that it conflicts with the holidays which makes it harder to focus on. Either way, a larger gap between the two competitions I think would make it easier on a lot of people. The suggestion for moving CC to Jan-Feb would basically guarantee a comfortable gap between the comps and not interfere with the holidays.

I agree that the crossfire stage should be narrowed down to terascale, so 3000-6000 series. I also think it would be fun to do a benchmark for FM2/+ that would use the IGPU as well as the CPU. Something like vantage performance would be fun.
