I don't think we need to exclude ES. It's too difficult to detect and to easy to workaround. If overclockers with ES want to, they can always say it's ES in the description of the submission. No need to make it more complicated ...

Good point. There are a couple of ways we can do this type of competitions. 1) Only SuperPI 32M 5GHz (or other frequency), 2) multiple SPI-32M (4G/5G/6G), 3) different benchmarks that are all highly tweakable. I'm not entirely sure what the best option would be. What do you think?

@Taloken What Mr.Scott says . The dynamics of competitions like the Team Cup and Novice Nimble are that teamwork is necessary. Usually there are a lot of different challenges and hardware. The generic teams typically have people with the most common hardware, so I don't think this will happen. The same applies to the Teams League. Because the rankings are based on the GTPP and HTPP (one score per ranking), there's almost no effect of the generic teams having a lot of team members. I see that the highest ranked generic teams are Extreme Overclockers of United Kingdom (58th) and Extreme Overclockers of France (75th), both mainly because of one or two people.

I like the feedback very much! I don't have a clear idea of how to implement the features and build the tools ... more mockup could help. So far, these are the items I wrote down: - appoint a specific contest moderator, who is announced on the contest page and can be contacted via mail/pm/chatbox(?) - add a section for ruling announcements and issues - better overview of the competition stages with timers As for the timers not working: that's a bug we need to look at. Browsing speed should have improved a lot since it launched a while ago, but can be improved still. If you don't mind, can you share that document? It would be helpful to get a better understanding of how you use the site and what are the most important links/pages.

Oh, didn't see this thread until now. The generic teams were added a while ago to address some issues related to how new users find their way around the site. In contrary to 5 years ago when social frameworks like forums drove people to HWBOT, most new overclockers join the site through benchmarks like GPUPI, HWBOT Prime, and XTU. The new guys join because they're interested in learning more about overclocking instead of having friends recommend them to submit their results for the team. This has a couple of consequences: 1) Our team based competitions, like Novice Nimble and Team Cup, rely on the overclockers being part of a team. Since the new overclockers are not connected to a team, they have to go through the hassle of creating a team or simply cannot participate. With the generic teams, everyone is now able to participate in those competitions. 2) For Team Captains it's not easy to find new, enthusiastic overclockers to get in touch and introduce to the team. With the generic team, the Team Captains can check who are the most active overclockers in their region and reach out to them. For example, in France you might want to check the Rookie Sapu or Novices Ziken and Looping. The goal is to help new overclockers to learn about overclocking teams and their social aspects as well as help Team Captains find new enthusiastic overclockers to join the community.

So many of you have asked if it was possible to include points for low-clock challenges like the SuperPI 5G. In another thread (which I cannot locate at the moment) I explained the difficulties with adding a limited clock frequency 'benchmark' at HWBOT and enable points. The easy alternative is to use the oc-esports competition engine to enable points. To show how it would work, I set up a Skylake 5G Tweaker's Challenge. That sounds pretty interesting!

Just setting the requirements for the stages is sufficient. We'll do the configuring and basic artwork stuff. For moderating, there's our awesome moderating staff. I don't think excluding anyone from the contest is justified. It's mostly for fun anyway .

What specifically would you like to see? Of course we won't "scrap" the site and dump all the effort/time spent on it, but improvements are always on the table
