Pinched a bit detail from your thread PJP! Regarding 27-29, I'd like to attend atleast one of the days, in general, what hardware should one bring?
  5. Good thing about the 5G conductonaut is that you use close to nothing of the TIM each mount... Wondering though, am I the only one that manage to squeeze too hard on the tube half of the time - and end up with a burst of TIM across other hardware :-/ Roman is not handling the e-mail, as far as I know, its the kind lad that was co-hosting the HWBot night last year at Computex, hope he will check up on the offer and mention if its still valid or not.

Added you to the list Albrecht. Dan' hope everything works out, update once dates are confirmed
  7. Hi guys, Anyone had success with ASUS Z270 Kaby Lake cashback + Mafia 3 campaign in Europe? I have applied a long time ago, and pretty much no outcome, no Mafia 3, no cashback, if ASUS says im not entitled, thats fair - no problem, but would be nice with response. I bought the false-flag marketing ASUS Z270G STRIX, a board that promises DDR4-4000, however, oddly, nobody in gods forsaken earth had been able to acheive that with the board... A i7-7700K and a win10 OEM (that I didnt need), to get entitled to the cashback... I ended up RMA the board and buy a APEX instead (great board btw), so it would indeed be fair if I am no longer entitled, however response would be nice. Hope ASUS will wake up and get started with the campaign.... Anyone had luck with the cashback and Mafia 3 so far? Cheers.
  8. Still valid? Sent email 2nd Feb, and again 9th - no response so far. What happend to "Ordnung muss sein" :'(

  10. Congratz buddy! Valid excuse not to be around the forum, 'though you've been missed. Very nice gear
  11. Great chip man! MIne requires a lot more voltage for the same, but very same pathern in difference each 100 MHz step for vcore. I wish I could do 18C water, but wife won't accept that cold indoor temp, its more like 22C ambient, when I hit 25C, I lost everything as for OC :-/ By the way, my highest was 5460MHz @ 25C ambient, voltage was high, too high
  12. Better then my chip i3-7100T, but that power consumption, yay. Nice find PJP
  13. Ended up putting the LM TIM carefully on the IHS and very little on DIE. Improved my temperature ~4-5C at 5GHz 1.275V, however, at higher frequencies and voltages, what a world of difference! 5400 CB15 on water, no problem.... 5200MHz P95 8-8 no problem.... (5300 possible but high voltage) Thanks for your suggestions, and the regular TIM, nail or tape, I will use on my... i3-7100T, I would like to lower the vcore as much as possible... No-power config, yes please
  14. No, it does not, AVX offset does not kick in when doing CB15, but with XTU on the other hand, it does.
  15. Hi lads, I asked no#1 Intel expert that I know of this question, but he did not want to comment, because its undocumented pins, but perhaps, being HWBOT, someone know and can give a friendly heads up. Picture found on google, I didnt do a picture when delid.. Its the 4 pins close to DIE I would like to know... Thing is, I am considering LM TIM, and I don't feel too safe with pins that close... Any advice? Silikone on the pins just in case?
  16. Guys, would you please let me know your VTT for given uncore/ram when testing? I am trying to figure if that is holding my uncore back, or its only a matter of vcore/temp combination... Also, RAM frequency, how your VTT is at given frequencies... I can get 4900 Uncore bench stable, but for torture tests, the crazy ones, 4800 is better. 5000 I simply cannot boot at. 3600 on RAM is a nightmare, 3466 only 2T, 3200 1T is highest. Hope some of you got time to test impact of VTT Cheers.
  17. Not relevant for the binning, but if others are considering Delid.. I did my test with Prime95 version 28.9, AVX and I set sizes manually, a friend once told me this is supposed to be hardest setting, and I have to admit, it cranks the temp up lots.. Pre-delid 5000/4500/3200 @ 1.275V with AVX offset 2 89-87-92-89 After delid, I kept same voltage, same settings 77-78-77-77 Then time to see how much I could push it... 5200/4800/3200 @ 1.41V, I still suffer from ASUS forgetting VTT in BIOS, but hopefully they will fix it fast
  18. 60mV on vcore? Well, while it has impact on VID, it does not affect finding lowest vcore for the test? Personally I used lowest vcore at LLC 7 on ASUS while testing my chip, board is listed in my post too anyway.
  19. Don't fully agree with you, but I do think the more information the better. Hope #0 can be edited to a list of information 'required' Or a new thread starting with spreadsheet of information gathered in this thread, and with instructions how to test - in order to get valid data that can be added to the spreadsheet. Meanwhile, I will stay in my corner and be grumpy why we don't do XTU benchmark instead, it sure needs higher vcore to pass, CB15 is way too light.. Hope stores that pre-bin CPUs actually use P95 8-8 AVX (The Leeghoofd test!) and not CB15, would suck to buy a chip thinking its stable and then it turns out to be CB15 But as for XTU or harder benches/tests, all the binners used CB15, so, it makes sense to stick with that test... I can get 51 stable with 2 AVX offset (working on getting it to 1) before the delid - as for the 8-8 test, and that hits very close to 100C which is instant freeze
  20. That means my issue with around 1.3V SA to get 1733 might be the chip?? Despite it does really low timings pretty darn close to that frequency?? If so, anything wrong in using lets say 1.4-1.5V SA - and indeed thinking daily, I cannot accept that the chip won't do 2000MHz ram.
  21. They can put all the RGB that they want on the products, fortunately we are not forced to use it.. Speaking of which, wondering if people are that different? According to ASUS I must be abnormal! (ok ok but also in this way!) I like to sleep in a silent and dark room My new Z270G STRIX put up the disco theme with RGB even when it was powered off... Nothing better then rainbows for sleeping, eh? Otherwise they just suggest having a computer in the bedroom is a bad idea - that could be it.
