TAGG - Xeon X5470 @ 5528.2MHz - 5528.25 mhz CPU Frequency
TAGG replied to bolc's topic in Result Discussions
I think the CPU might do even more, i forgot to raise vcore, this was done with 1,6V... Tomorrow i'll have a look at X5460 X5450 and maybe E5450 -
@bolc Xeon 50xx 51xx and 52xx I got some conroes that will post 600MHz on air and according to my experience they'll do 640 ish on cascade.... Also I don't want to chop up my rampage's socket Might try a P5E3-Premium or P5E64 Evo... But not so sure if I can get xeons to work on them though
-
@5erveD No thanks i got enough of the P5Q-e @GeorgeStorm sure, PM me with your price
-
I have to retest that P5Q-E with a E8400 now it seems that the Conroes don't scale that well... Still doesn't explain why none of the chips were able to do 32M beyond 590 even if they did multicore benches @610... maybe the MC is crap idk... (tested several kits of normally decent D9Gs)... Strangely enough this also doens't really make sense: http://hwbot.org/submission/3352334_tagg_memory_frequency_ddr2_sdram_741.3_mhz same board... As for the boards: I'd really like the EP45-Extreme (allready have the T and it's a great board) but shipping from the US to austria just kills every deal
-
I'm looking for a board that is confirmed to run at least 1M at 630MHz on air w/o suicidal voltages EDIT: and 610 32m would also be nice (unlike that patato of a p5q-e that doesn't do 590 no matter what)... Offer anything, but gigabyte is preffered

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schrödinger's_cat What i meant is that I'm both a cheater and not untill i open the case of the CPU thus observing the state of the core, so it is bot a pluto and a orion untill checked... -

Does that mean i have to crack my Athlon 800 open because there is the chance that it has a orion core and I cheated without knowing??? I feel like these old platforms aren't useable for competitions on the bot, because there allways is drama... -
Selling Place 3 and 4 of my recent binning effort of 21 X5690s Both CPUs do CB R11.5 @4,45GHz on my X58A-OC Vcore: 1,3V BIOS LLC Auto Load temperature ~90°C due to chinese thermal paste, so CPUs might do even better. Looking for 150€ + Shipping for the pair

I found some old sources claiming that they got cores specced for 900 or even 950 MHz Out of cartridges rated as Low as 700 MHz, i myself cracked open my 650 and found a 700 inside... So Griffs core probbably came from a Orion Wafer but got stamped as a Pluto, AMD seemed to Change their mind alot Back in the day. Another example would be my 600 with a Argon Partnummer (on the cartridge) but a Pluto core... Point beeing that AMD themselves didn't Care too much about the different cores, so why should we (AMDs lists both core types as Modell 2 btw)... Edit: exept for tbird of course which has totaly different Layout internally and externally... -
Keep whole and OC to the max I had the same thing happen to me recently, bought a Gigabyte 1080 Xtreme Gaming for epowering, it had a short on some little vrm (that i still dont know what it was good for) after i removed one of the FETs it worked fine and is my daily driver now (with a 10 phase VRM instead of a 12 because 2 of the main phases are also dead)... I guess there could be worse surprises than finding out the broken card you bought works

If we'd take Stage 1 super serious the best score would be 675MHz which would just be stupid, I'd say photo of screen has to do, getting a old single core cpu 3x CPU-Z stable + screenshot is basically like running a benchmark, which max validations have never been and imo. should never become for any platform... -
I would take the board or everything if there are some decent CPUs included (like your E6300)

This is a Intel Board, so it would be of no use for this competition... -

As far as i can remember we had a dual S462 stage last year, so there allways was some server(ish) hardware involved If dualboards are allowed thet would mean that anyone who want's to have a chance in the wprime stage needs one... If that is the case we have to agree on using them as soon as possible, otherwise there will be complaints from people who spent money on such a board and are not allowed to use it... -

I didn't manage to voltmod the GPU Voltage because the FB pin is directly connected to Vgpu out, tried it by adding a resistor between vgpu out and FB and by adding a voltage divider between 5V and GND with FB inbetween, both didn't work, also the controller has a internal voltage refference and the maximum voltage you can program via VID pins is 3,5V anyways. The VCCIO mod is easy, just add a 10K ohm VR between the two outer Pins of LX8383A(voltage regulator above the BIOS battery) -

@Strunkenbold Sorry about not combining the CPU and the board in one picture, I thought the CPU picture was purely intended so that other participants could see the batch... I'm still not sure why my 345MHz submission was removed from % OC but not from max freq though... Max freq submission: http://hwbot.org/submission/3804788 % OC submission: http://hwbot.org/submission/3804783_ I had it submitted in both stages as you can clearly see from the 11 comments on the %OC one Might have something to do with the database beeing messed up, I submitted the max freq later... If none of the mods removed it please add it to the competition again -

Why did my MMX 166 345MHz sbmission get removed from the comp? I ran DMI=0 provided pictures of board and CPU and even a video proving that this CPU is capable of 3x multiplier... http://hwbot.org/submission/3804783_ Not that it matters for the ranking I just wan't to know why it was removed
