[READ: All items are located in the US. All prices include domestic US shipping; international shipping requires a quote, usually add 26 USD to the list price. Bundle deals can be made for the purchase of multiple items. All items have been tested on a Z97 OC Formula test platform, with SET voltage values reported. I do my best to link as many screenshots as possible. As always, YMMV! I will not guarantee that I can do any additional testing, or that you will be able to replicate every result exactly.]

Some decent value PSC.

6. Apacer Value 2GB ("XEJ-"): My best value stick. Does 1200MHz 7-11-7 tCWL8 1.68V, 1200MHz 7-11-7 tCWL6 and 6-11-7 tCWL8 1.91V, 1300MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.86V, 1333MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.96V. (Note: 1333 tRCD12 only seemed to work when setting tCWL6.) Price: $5 free, just pay shipping

7. ASint Value 2GB ("XEE-"): Does 1200MHz 7-11-7 tCWL8 1.75V, 1300MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.92V. Price: SOLD ELSEWHERE

11. Injured F3-17600CL7D-4GBPIS. I bought this kit a couple of years ago or so, my first good kit of PSC.

  • When working they did 1333MHz 8-12-7 tCWL6 tight ~1.92V 32M, S/N 1086 did 1400MHz 8-13-8 ~2V but the IMC could not handle PSC very well, hence subtimings. I still have never found a kit as tRP-strong -- 1200MHz tRP6 32M stable, 1300MHz tRP6 1M, 1333MHz tRP6 bootable. (I found images of 1300 8-12-6 single channel 1M, 1333 8-12-6 single channel CPU-Z.)
  • Long story short, there is most likely eraser stuck in some BGAs. As I recall, one stick will not POST at all (maybe it will on a more forgiving platform -- I have had "dead" samsung work on AMD), one will barely do more than JEDEC. Maybe they can be cleaned up and restored to working order. Price: $30 $25 $20 $15 SOLD

34. Avexir Blitz AVD3U20000902G-2G 2000 9-9-9-24 1.65V (2 sticks). Elpida BBSE. AV83URCB PCB, which is at least academically interesting, seems like a custom model by Brainpower for Avexir. Note that there is one screw missing from the heatsink. Price: SOLD ELSEWHERE

Three single sticks of binned BBSE. Price: $75 SOLD for all 3 sticks.

39. Kingston HyperX T1 KHX2000C9D3T1K2/4GX (2 sticks). BBSE. A really unique kit: KO-8155 PCB, ICs are the earliest I have ever seen with 0843 date, and -AE-F JEDEC bin -- very rare, nearly all BBSE is -DJ-F. Not special on air but PCB suggests cold potential. Price: SOLD ELSEWHERE. (ALTHOUGH I DID NOT KNOW THIS AT THE TIME OF SALE, THIS KIT IS ACTUALLY REFLASHED WITH A KINGSTON SPD. THE ORIGINAL P/N WAS AVANTIUM AED34G2133HC9DC.)

40. G.Skill Trident (1x F3-16000CL9D-4GBTD, 1x F3-16000CL9T-6GBTD). BBSE, handpicked sticks from the top ~10% of the 2000C9 bin sticks I tested. KO-8117 PCB. Price: $65 SOLD

41. G.Skill Trident F3-12800CL7D-4GBTDS (2 sticks). PSC. ST-SG38U816 PCB. A really weird kit. 1600 7-7-7 PSC is a rare find, and the behavior is unlike any other PSC I've had. Although not a low-voltage kit, the tRCD voltage tolerance is pretty hilarious. Price: SOLD ELSEWHERE

49. see #55

Over the last couple of years, I have binned 338 sticks of PSC/BDBG through extremely thorough and careful testing, retesting, and re-retesting. As much as I want to keep every stick with interesting properties, I need to pare down the collection and move onto other things in the world of OC. Below are some of the best kits that I have found with a few useful results.

I have done almost all of my testing on ambient, but I would not be surprised if some of these sticks turned out to be very nice on cold.

(32M screenshots will be added soon! If I forget, PM me and I will look for them.)

50. G.Skill Pi F3-17600CL7D-4GBPIS (1 stick). PSC. ST-SG38U816 PCB. #1 out of my first 15 wild sticks of 2200C7 Pi, and to date my best sample on ST PCB. Price: $30 SOLD

  • -4892: 1200MHz 7-10-7-28 tCWL8 1.67V, 1300MHz 8-12-8-28 1.81V, 1333MHz 8-12-8-28 1.86-7V.

52. G.Skill Pi 2000C6 x3 / F3-16000CL6T-6GBPIS. KO-8117 PCB. [$100 $95 SOLD]

This kit was formerly owned by coolhandluke41 AKA XbrytanX. -5671 and -5672 sticks had tape on the heatsinks and were probably taken cold, though I don't know what screens or scores he made with them.

  • -5671: 1200MHz 7-11-7-28 tCWL8 1.70V, 1300MHz 8-12-7-28 1.84V, 1300MHz 6-12-7-28 2.15V, 1333MHz 8-12-7-28 1.90V
    • Apparently 1375MHz 8-12-8 was able to pass 1M at some voltage. For fun, I was also able to get this stick to do 1476MHz 8-14-8 2.26V through 1M. I have a video somewhere, PM if you're curious.
  • -5672: 1200MHz 7-11-7-28 tCWL8 1.69V, 1300MHz 8-12-7-28 1.84V, 1333MHz 8-12-7-28 1.92V (tRDRD5)

One stick has the label ripped off from a previous owner.

  • -0005: 1200MHz 7-11-7-28 1.70V, 1300MHz 8-12-7-28 1.85-6V, 1333MHz 8-12-7-28 1.92-3V, 1400MHz 8-13-7-30 2.07V.

Here's a teaser for what I think is the most interesting part about these sticks ;):

The following kits are from mismatched kits; they have matching PCBs and similar OC behavior. This includes most of my very best DDR3-1600 bin sticks, of which I binned 100.

55. G.Skill Ripjaws 1600C7 x3 / F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM. ST-SG38U816 PCB. [$75 $65 SOLD]

59. G.Skill Pi 2000C9 / F3-16000CL9D-4GBPIS. KO-8117 PCB. [$20 $15 $10 SOLD]

My last 2000C9 Pi out of the 3 sticks from coolhandluke41. If I remember correctly, this stick was binned by Splave, who spoke very highly of his 2000C9 Pi back in the day. Despite the standard bin, it's a rare model which I've only seen once or twice since.

  • 1200MHz 7-11-7-28 1.72V, 1300MHz 8-12-8-28 1.87V, 1333MHz 8-12-8-28 1.91-2V, 1400MHz 8-13-8-28 2.05V

60. G.Skill Ripjaws X 2133C9 / F3-17000CL9D-4GBXMD. KO-8155 PCB. [$15 $10 $5 SOLD]

A rare 2133C9 1.5V bin stick, much much stronger than the 1.6V version. Decent tRCD despite voltage. Also useful as a PCB donor.

  • 1200MHz 7-11-7-28 tCWL8 1.76V, 1300MHz 8-12-7-28 1.89-90V, 1333MHz 8-12-8-30 1.97V, 1375MHz 8-13-8-28 2.04V.

Some high bin MFR, the best IC for frequency validation.

61. G.Skill Trident X 2933C12 / F3-2933C12D-8GTXDG x1. B83U855 1.00 PCB. Tested for 1400MHz 11-13-12-35 1.63V, 1650MHz 14-15-15-45 1.75V. [SOLD ELSEWHERE]

62. Kingston HyperX Predator 2800C12 / KHX2800C12T2K2/8X. 2025593-0F2.A00 PCB. Tested for 1400MHz 11-13-11 1.60/1.62V, 1650MHz 14-15-15-45 1.73/1.79V. [SOLD ELSEWHERE]

63. Samsung OEM G-die, 16x 1GB sticks. All sticks confirmed to do 1400MHz 9-12-13-18 tight, just a matter of voltage. [$2/stick SOLD]

64. PULLED FROM SALE FOR NOW.

Some good benching motherboards that I haven't found time to use since I bought them.

65. GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-USB3P (LGA775 P45 DDR3). [SOLD ELSEWHERE]

66. ASUS RAMPAGE V EDITON 10 (X99). [NO LONGER FOR SALE]

67. ASRock Z170M OC FORMULA. [$210 $200 SOLD]

From how much were these G3258's binned?

Edit: And where would they come from?

Located in US. From my 52 samples these are "above average", good for 5.0 but no 5.1. (Outside my own testing I have seen many many worse chips.)

I was just wondering what cooling was used for binning those G3258.
Stock, water or advanced air?

240mm AIO, in brief tests should be almost the same as strong air.

Post updated, all listed G3258s spoken for, I might have one more I can add.

What PCB do the cursed Samsung use?

B83U854, 4x. They do not POST in Z97 but will POST and OC fine on 990FX if inserted into certain slots, in a certain order, posting in between each stick insertion. But they do work! Not sure that would apply at all here, but just thought I would mention it.

Did you try and clean the contacts for that pi’s? That can give issues. Even when they seem to be clean.

Yep, I clean contacts and slots regularly.
