Massive recalculation ongoing, hold your scores on the thumbdrive plz

New hardware points threshold are being calculated, take into account that we have over 1.7 Milion 2D scores that need a recalc.  A rough estimate is that this will take the entire weekend.

 

 

If you submit scores, its calculation will get queued and it could even be that no ranking is given till the recalc has been completed

Not by thousands (during weekend) but still by hundreds of points.

I requested the old image to be put back on the test server from before Tim patched the point system, so we can compare

Before weekend we had approx. 164k

During weekend we dropped at 99k

At this moment we are at 157k

Same applies to Warp9 systems.

We had 273.000

A new member with lots of points joined the Team, which should bring us to 279.000 approximately.

During the weekend we fell to 225.000

Now we stand at 262.000

 - I still don't have access to recalc all benchmarks ( the ones that don't give TPP to Warp9 and Hellas... )

 - Tim  found some coding errors  and is fixing them, but this time before it is being implemented on production it needs a thorough check first

To give a few examples:

HWBOT prime hasn't been supported for ages but still gave Team points for some teams, similar story for PCmark05, SuperPi 8M, Time Spy Physx, XTU,... Old HWBOT still gave a lot of points, but it was hit and miss

Users that left HWBOT still gave Team points in certain benchmarks, these are being zerood. No submissions of present users will be deleted. But it is not logic that a user deletes his account, but still would contribute to a Team.

Is HWBOT certain that the code ( an old code indeed - is that SQL ? ) operates correctly ?

These massive ups and downs can't really be justified.

Also, it would be nice if you provide to the community a final clear picture of what stays and what goes.

a benchmark that is in alpha state is not visible in the standard benchmark list: all existing boints go, thus also Team hardware and Team boints eg PCMark05, AIDA64, HWBOTprime,...

Realesed and Beta Benchmarks maintain the GTTP and HTPP

Catzilla is still in the benchmark list but doesn't get any hardware points, so Team boints are also removed

XTU due to the bugged output became Bointless, but GTPP HTPP were still attributed... these get zerood

 

 

Anyways we are still doing recalcs... so nothing is final yet

It would be a nice feature if at least the team captains had access to point recalculation system.

At least have some facts , elements , stats , graphs ... anything , to have a clue what's going on ???

 

There was a time in the past where we had access to almost everything (point wise).

We had charts saying "you lost a point there ... you gained a position there ... and so on.

 

Now we are living the "dark era" of the hwbot point system.

We are obliged to assume that everything is working fine and also trust all automated point calculation .... by not having access to anything.

 

Am i wrong ?

Depends on what is the current policy of HWBOT.

I sincerely hope that the " DARK ERA " of point system, as stated, does not become an unpleasant "suspicious" thought in many members minds because then we are entering an era of mistrust and disbelief, which is the last thing needed.

I strongly wish to believe that the Administration of this site will not allow such a thing to happen.

Let's be a bit more patient and see the final outcome before jumping to conclusions.

I am trying to be a supporter here. Think positive and let things evolve hoping for the best.

This site is our hobby and we like to evolve with it.

I feel very happy whenever i see an improvement.

But on the other hand ...
Isn't a 4 year period enough ? shouldn't there be an obvious sign of "things getting better" ?

When you have to struggle , to simply manage to have a clear image of your personal points , what about team points in total ?

Is there any team captain in here (i'm talking for the big teams) that can state with confidence , that he is 99% sure about his team points being calculated properly ?

281.000 ( approximately ) after.

281K minus 14K = 267K.

Currently 257K.
