Posted February 23, 201213 yr Hi there Just tested the EPower Board on my 8500 GT after the 8800GT didn't realy scale. Result with stock VRM at 1,8 ± 0,2 vGPU: 1026 MHz Powered by EPower Board I could reach 1107 MHz. 81 MHz more than with stock VRM which means total overclocking of 141%. Voltage was 1,81 vGPU Pics of the Mod: Mod done: So the result depends quite much on the card you use.
February 24, 201213 yr Author Especially if the memory was indeed run at default in the first test. yep was default. I only did a vMod for the GPU for the first test. So left memory on stock.
February 24, 201213 yr I still have this GTX275 Lightning that needs a fresh PWM. Shall I bring it to CeBIT ?
February 24, 201213 yr Nice testing Roman! This will be your approx 10th 275 Lightning, huh? _ Christian
February 25, 201213 yr thanks for sharing your results. I have one question though. Is grinding down your card essential for good results. Have you tried without it??
February 25, 201213 yr Author Not if you find enough ground spots. Ofc it's possible without grinding but the more ground wires you add the better the result will be. I just did it to be safe and actually the card is done anyway after applying the Board on it.
February 26, 201213 yr Author Are grounds from original 6 pin still ok to use? Yea but the 8500GT doesn't have a 6 Pin connector. If you use a different card like 8800GT you can use the 6 Pin connector of course.
