Guys, I understand, that this is "slightly extreme", but maybe I can find someone who "was there before" and could give me some info, as to witch graphic card I should be using on Socket 7 (that means Pentium 1, no MMX) mainboard with PCI slots. For example GF 2 MX400 refuse to even post... I use S3 Trio64 (v1), yet the display is trashed a lot: The reason is simple - it is running at 3.57MHz PCI bus clock. And I'm not kidding. Asus TXP4-X mainboard use ICS 9169 PLL chip. That chip can be tricked to FSB clock reference / 2. Reference clock being 14.31818MHz, witch give 7.14MHz FSB. This is not that big problem for some CPU's (AMD K5 PR75 refuse to post, BTW)…

My Asus TXP4-X have old Award bios. I use the Asus TX97-XE in it anyway, but both bioses cannot be opened using normal Modbin version that I use for all these Award bioses, claiming that "bios is not version 6.0": Now... witch version of Modbin is possible to use there? I need to look, if there can be unlocked TRP (precharge) settings to lower value that too slow 3... Because I don't know any MemSet equivalent that let me change the Intel 430TX ram settings Anyone can suggest application that can open this bios? Bios in question: http://www.mediafire.com/?fcxc145qnnwihr4

Guys, I wonder, if is possible to re-enable L1 and/or L2 caches that are disabled in bios under Windows XP. Specificaly for AMD Athlon / Duron CPU's. These CPU's run deadly slow w/o them (imagine GPU-Z starting 15min - you get the idea what "deadly slow" means) - specifically w/o L1 - and therefore for taking screenshots of the test result I look for means to do it with more "normal" speed and not speed, where just few fast random clicks can cause BSOD, as the input buffer is overflown so easily... (downclocking by nVidia control pannel is the biggest problem) DOS utility that can do it is found there: http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=38613

Guys, for some experimental attempt I'm looking out for VGA bios for some nVidia RIVA TNT2 cards, at best the Vanta LT is preffered: ...do anyone have it and can upload it on for example http://www.mediafire.com or http://dfiles.eu or anywhere (include to reply as attachment)? I need to compare to try lower the GPU clock in the bios Anyone can help? And no... TechPowerUp bioses database did not have anything on TNT2 Vanta cards... They store bioses since FX 6200 cards and not go deeper in history: http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/

Hi everybody. I need to fully revive an old Tualatin board. It's an Iwill BD133u (Intel 815). Picked up from scrap , in a bad condition. Repaired some scratches on pcb and insulated with nail-polish. Changed all leaking capacitors and the board is fully working again. Now i need to optimize it's bios. The board has problems operating with tB1 stepping cpu's. (CPUID : 06B4h). It probably doesnt have the cpu microcode for it. The bios chip is a Phoenix D686 , with bios version BDU1026 in it. I need help to implement the cpu microcode into that bios. Looking for the bios tools or a person that can do it. Attached here is the bios of this board.

First thing we need to conceptualize is how we arrange the database itself (what to save), the submission form (how to save) and of course the output (on-site). I'm open to all suggestions as I don't really have a good idea on what would work best.
