Need to revive a Tualatin board

TASOS

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody.

I need to fully revive an old Tualatin board.

It's an Iwill BD133u (Intel 815).

Picked up from scrap , in a bad condition.

Repaired some scratches on pcb and insulated with nail-polish.

Changed all leaking capacitors and the board is fully working again.

Now i need to optimize it's bios.

The board has problems operating with tB1 stepping cpu's. (CPUID : 06B4h).

It probably doesnt have the cpu microcode for it.

The bios chip is a Phoenix D686 , with bios version BDU1026 in it.

I need help to implement the cpu microcode into that bios.

Looking for the bios tools or a person that can do it.

Attached here is the bios of this board.

:)

Very cool, adding microcode... :) Congratulations on sucesfull work. Now a little overclock should be in order :D

BTW, makes me wonder, how hard will be to include microcode support for Xeons into MSI X58 Pro-E bios... probably not that much (award bios), once one get a hold of such microcode, for example from bioses where these Xeons (like the 6 cores X5650) are supported...
