Clarification in PCMark'05 about Tweaks // Tricks allowed
Mr.Scott replied to Sweet's topic in Benchmark software
I'm liking your stance on this. Thank you for the effort. -
UPDATE THE GOD DAMN RULES !! Do you think rules are not that important? How do you intend to enforce accurately what isn't yet written? The old rules don't cut it anymore, due to many 'un-written', yet enforced rules, and quite frankly, I'm F'ing sick of it. The picking and choosing whats enforced and on whom is getting ridiculous.
-
My bad. I thought this was all changed in the new rules page that we're still waiting for. By your reasoning that means this is still valid too. http://hwbot.org/news/882_application_10_rules/ But by all means, let's make it easier for the slackers to submit BS screenshots. Kinda defeats the purpose of rules, wouldn't you say? Hmmm...... http://hwbot.org/news/7914_rules_update_2012_hwbot_general_rules_and_guidelines section 2.1 says you're wrong. and section 2.2 obviously hasn't been updated. Finally, the sub is NOT valid by reason of the rules that you DO enforce, right here. http://hwbot.org/news/885_application_13_rules/ Not using current CPU-Z.
-
Honestly, there is no reason that you can't use CPU-Z. There are others that have with no problem even at your high OC and XP. Random example: http://hwbot.org/submission/2274948_theking_3dmark06_radeon_hd_7970_41912_marks It's not working for you because you're on the edge of stability, and this makes your SS invalid. Stop trying to skirt the rules and run a good submission. It's up to the person making the submission to supply a rules conforming SS, not the staff to give you alternatives. There are exceptions, but that is usually for just super old hardware.

Have you messaged the captain of that team? Maybe there is a password involved.

Lost my Team, Like to move up to OC Leauge..

Workaround: Make a normal submission but 'accidentally' select dice or LN2 on the cooling. Let the system upgrade you to the OC league then edit or delete the sub. -
Baking a semi dead 7950 GT AGP card. Exploded in the oven and finished it off.

Clarification in PCMark'05 about Tweaks // Tricks allowed

It would seem that you leave no stone unturned in looking for loopholes in the rules. It's very discouraging. Massman may have givith that time, but Massman can takith away just as quickly. As far as I've read anywhere, it has not been determined 100% whether it's legal or not..........yet. -
So.....when exactly are these BS scores to be blocked/removed? I see more piling up every day.
-
Does the rest of the staff share you guys same opinions?..........willingly?
-
Thank you Alex. That makes everything a little more clear now. Maybe if the rest of the staff were a little more transparent, less conclusions like mine would be drawn. As stated before, no disrespect was meant, I just communicate what I see.
-
Really? Grow up will you.
-
I DID say just some of the staff, not all. One would be very naive to think otherwise. People hold their tweaks very close to themselves, I expect the staff to be no different. I meant no disrespect. I just call it as I see it. Don't underestimate me. I'm fully aware of what most of the subtest tweaks are. Believe what you want, I'm no longer interested in PCM05 as a valid benchmark. I am however interested in keeping this and any other bench cheat free.
