Definitely not Mike, memory clocking on my board was a huge pain. GD65 I used last year was fine, but this mpower not so much.

MSI Z77 MPower
I don't vas under those sinks, no vas over the mos. It benched fine for 4 hours the day before and then two hours into the next day it let go. First board I have had die like this and I benched a gd65 last year. Gd65 felt fairly solid, but this board with its mem issues was nothing but a pain to bench. I don't think I'll need to do another round of benching on msi before haswell but if I do it will be with gd65, not mpower.

MSI Z77 MPower
Yep, same as with every board I bench. First time I have had anything like that happen. Could have just been a random thing, it benched for a few good hours before that with just the memory clocking issue.

MSI Z77 MPower
I got the same thing on my mpower Loud, anything over 2500 was just nope. And even with that timings were crap and voltages had to be sky high. Even with cold mems I only got 6-10-6 2400. I can't do any more testing for you though, because:

Seconding that. Maybe an Asus board thrown in there so I can take high ground for trying all vendors. Pumped for haswell!

Awesome sticks and runs loud, and clean setup as always. I have one kit of PSC that doesn't mind extra cold temps as well. I got them down to -160c without issue where most would give up before the -120c mark. Certainly no 6-9-7 from those sticks though.

Oh god, ruining the Pro League isn't enough so now we're going to attack XOC? Taking out current gen hardware for XOC just defeats me entirely. I'm not sponsored or supported in the slightest, I have had one low end mainboard given to me once, that is it and I still bin and bench the latest gen of hardware. It hits the wallet and it hits it hard, but this is benching for me. I used to get my kicks out of benching old 775 and AM3 but I have moved on now and like to see where I can stand in global rankings as well as hardware rankings, I see no reason for that to not count towards my league standing. Benching the latest hardware isn't even the only way to rank high in XOC (Not that I am ranked high myself, life has kept me from regularly benching for a little while), you can bench old hardware all you like in popular categories and soar into the top 50 and even higher on that alone. There should be no single 'style' of benching taken out because the other thinks its unfair, I don't even know where this argument has come from now. Sure, there are people in the XOC getting support, but that should be no reason to eliminate an entire platform for the majority who aren't. This will just push even more people into limbo and alienate more of the community that once supported hwbot. That will be a very bad move imo.- Team.AU - GeForce GTX 580 @ 1591/1250MHz - 163641 marks 3DMark2001 SE
- Is overclocking dying?
Yeah, I would agree. There is still a large amount of interest in overclocking in local forums I visit, people are still benching and splurging out on expensive gear for a couple of extra hundred points in 11 or now 3dmark(12). I feel like there has been two much emphasis on improving hwbot for interest to outsiders, to make it more of an interesting spectator sport when it's never really going to be that imo. We should be working to improve things for the people who are interested and invested in the hobby, not to make it more interesting to people who probably just aren't interested. I think the new Pro league layout, and the reaction to it by members in that league is a prime example of that.- The "I'm benching and wanna share pics"-thread
