  1. Go for 266x9 btw, one of my Ultra-B's can't handle the VDIMM mod and the only difference is that there's no smd capacitor between 2 FETs close to the memory slots. Unfortunately this is the board that does highest FSB without mod. The other 2 boards have it but all of them should do 266 easily. Actually it will be the first time to use one of my Ultra-B's for competitive benchmarking. I've always preferred NF7-S, because I love that board and also have self-modded bioses for it
  2. I wanted to try 311 2-2-2-5 on LN2 for second stage, but first I thought comp ends at midnight and then I woke up too late
  3. Strong? This is awful First antifreeze leaked from the chiller on the carpet. Then gpu block was not seated properly and GPU temp was very high. The GPU mod worked up to 1.7V only, had no time for mem mods on the VGA and VDIMM mod on the board. The thermocopule of the pot broke. There was some throttling in GT1, I suspect the board. Two runs... And of cource no time for stage 2.
  4. Yes, it is still a joke. I believe it will start on 15th this month, but we can't be sure... There's no "official" statement.
  5. Ok, my bad, it's higher than 3.7V according to bios. Sorry for video quality, it looked much better on the camera screen and I'm out of battery and SD card space...
  6. Well, I can do 275+ at about 3.5V, plus the timings at 280 were not that tight. 3.9 is ok for me, just doesn't help in this situation . IIRC, I've memtested some of the sticks at 270 3.2-3.3V, but don't remember with which CPU.
  7. I will definitely try LN2, but not now. Will have to test some different CPUs and hook up the chiller on the CPU to see if it makes any difference. @TASOS: ~3.7V, but they've seen 4V before. I tried up to 3.9 now, but didn't help on any of the sticks, so I suspect CPU/board.
  8. It was pretty hard to make any of my kits (2x256 and 2x512) work at 280. Perhaps it is the IMC or the board. 278 - OK, but 2MHz more and have troubles. I have several Corsairs (3200C2 and 3500C2), Mushkin - Level II, Special 222, OCZ VX. My best are one of the Level II, but still hard to run at 280 and it seems memory is not holding me back, since voltage does not help. Two of the Corsair 2x512MB are pretty good and also 2-3 kits of the 2x256. Maybe I can bin individual sticks and make better combination.
  9. Yes, 2x512 is faster, since it is double-sided and although 256MB BH-5 sticks usually have chips on both sides of the PCB, they are actually SS/single-bank. For maximum performance on s.939 you'd want 512MB sticks as long as they are good enough. 256's are a little easier to overclock though. For s.A 256MB sticks are mandatory, since NF2 chipset does not like DS ram and you can go much higher in FSB this way. And as we know, FSB on s.A correlates directly with performance, or the so called "efficiency"
  10. kotori-san, then you have good efficiency. I'm slower than you with 2x256MB sticks, but also suspect my OS. We'll see
  11. Now I wanna play, too Good job, tight timings it seems. I will setup mine this evening.
  12. Nothing is working and the cup already started, yes
  13. The only thing I achived was to kill one of my best PI sticks. I have 2 kits and one of them was clearly better. The second one was unstable at tRCD 9 even with 2.15V and in fact didn't scale past that voltage. First one did it easily at below 2.1V. Looking back at scores, I actually had some chance if I had more LN2 and Samsung memory. I thought more people would participate. Sure I could do better with 32M stage too. Good luck to everyone in the finals. Maybe I would qualify some other time .
  14. Yeah, I forgot that this is 1M. I've done 295 - 300 (due to CPU freq max), but I guess 311 would be possible, too.
  15. Not sure how strong is the glue, I'm afraid of ripping off some of the ICs. That's my main concern.
  16. Awesome. I would be happy if can get it down to .22 Can you tell me an easy way to get the heatsinks off? One of my best PI sticks is already dead and I think it would be better to get the heatsinks on the other kit off, but afraid I may damage some of the ICs while doing so and then will be left with no good memory.
  17. I always use a hot gun immediately after the session and I'd recommend it to you as well. Not only for the board, but for the mems too. Last time I benched several hours with cpu and psc (1333 5-9-6) on LN2 and half of the board froze, including the heatsink for the vrms, even though I always have fans that blow away the cold vapor. Good insulation around mem slots is critical if you want to not worry about moisture and bench several hours. Otherwise you'd need to stop very early. Watch out for water drops under the heatsinks, just where the vrms are, if the heatsinks were frozen. If you don't remove the heatsinks, make sure to heat them up to the point it is very hot to the touch, so any water drops left would vapor. It is also important to heat up memory slots.
  18. Isn't there a separation in the database between 0.0pts (not the best result from the user with that hardware) and points disabled by the user? Because we still don't want to lose subs with disabled points, while we certainly don't want more than one result from a user with same cpu. For example, if there's a competition and I upload 5-6 scores with my best XP-M, they all will go into the chart and that same cpu will occupy first 6 places In my particular case, these XP-M 2500+ results are made with 2 or more different cpus, but they are still the same model, so only best should count.
  19. Maybe filter subs which does not bring hw points, so there won't be entries with the same cpu model from the same user, but with different score. Better take just the best entry with a given cpu. For example there are 3 of my subs with XP-M 2500+ in 32M chart, but only best one brings me points, others should not be displayed . On a side note, I should really bench all my s.A cpus in the box I have...too little overall hw points
  20. Wait, where did that link to the screenshot showing 4770K is ES go? It's showing ES on all your subs with 4770K. I don't want to be an asshole, but we all are required to respect the rules. Just thought it is strange the link accidentally disappeared from the first post.
  21. If I understand correctly what you're saying, then answers are in line with your question. In fact everyone is allowed to get points with current-gen ES, because if you have samples, then you're not an ordinary bencher and belong to Elite. So I don't see where the problem is Current-gen ES are not allowed in normal competitions, so it is perfectly fine by me. If you still managed to somehow get a current-gen ES CPU, but don't want to move to Elite, why would you insist on getting points for that CPU? If your point is that ES are clearly better and no retail can beat 'em, then think about who will be on top if ES hardware was not allowed. Don't you think same guys will be on top no matter ES or retail? In other words: I don't care Have many other more important thing in real life to worry about. HWBOT for me is mostly for fun and some competition element.
