[eXtreme-roundup] 26 Thermal Compounds tested
I.nfraR.ed replied to der8auer's topic in Extreme overclocking
Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate the hard work you did, but is there any specific reason you didn't do a full-pot LN2 test instead of -150, thus eliminating the need of constant pouring while trying to keep temperature at -150? Plus full pot will be more interesting since Ivy goes all the way down and beyond LN2 temps, not mentioning all AMD chips since Deneb. -
[eXtreme-roundup] 26 Thermal Compounds tested

No review, just a personal testing in order to decide which thermal compound I should stick to. Unfortunately I was only measuring the pot base temperature with the probe I usually use. No IHS readings, but I used the maximum clocks as a measure, don't even remember what was the bench. Can't provide any real data Tried GC-Extreme and Ceramique 2 with Deneb at full pot as well and didn't see any difference there, too. -
[eXtreme-roundup] 26 Thermal Compounds tested

Strange, but according to my testing GC-Extreme and Ceramique 2 were on par with 3770K at -186 and 6+ GHz, while the Noctua seemed to be completely frozen and the clocks were pretty bad. And I tested all of them twice each. -

Do you really read what he wrote? When you tie a record, you're both the record-holder, whether it was on the same race or after 10 years. What you say is simply not true. Both athletes/racers get the recognition. PS: It was addressed to PAQd.

CPU-Z 1.61 is out! Bugs, feedbacks go in here
I.nfraR.ed replied to Christian Ney's topic in Benchmark software
Yes, same for me. Had another issue too - when opening several instances on a Thunderbid CPU at high FSB (250+) it just randomly closes, while an older version works like a charm. Seemed like stability issue at first, but it wasn't. -
HWBOT Logo

I get this with PS CS5 Is it me or the PSD file is broken? It's 321 bytes... -
Ximi, have you ever seen the report functionallity? The reporting person can choose from several options based on what he feels is the reason. Then the report is submitted and hwbot moderators investigate if there's a problem. The submission might be absolutely valid or the reason supplied could be wrong, but the submission still invalid. It's up to the moderators to decide whether it's valid or not, sometimes it requires additional information from the users. There's absolutely no need to post a new thread every time one of your submissions get reported. What if all users with reported submissions start new threads for each of them? If you still feel like commenting all your reported scores, then better do it on some of your old threads and don't start a new one.

Gamer - GeForce2 Ultra - 496 marks 3DMark03
I.nfraR.ed replied to Mr.Scott's topic in Result Discussions
I will beat you with 250FSB and GF2 GTS. It will be easy, they said Seriously, very nice score, hard to beat I guess. -
Neoprene sheet. Just checked with another PSU and 2500K, but nothing changed.

What should I check with it? None of the heatsinks are hot. Using both 8 and 4 pin, but tried with the 8-pin alone, still the same.

Hello, I'm copying this from KPC forums, maybe more people will see it here. ---- I haven't used my M5F for 2 months and now when I tried to fire it up it gives me a POST code 76. Last time it was working fine - it was for the XS low clock challenge. CPU was on water and RAM on air. Then I put it aside. What I tried: - 1 stick RAM in all slots, different modules with different ICs - no ram installed at all - bios flashback with 0804 and 0095 from a USB stick (renamed to M5F.CAP, hold ROG connect button for some seconds, then release when it starts to blink) - reseat cpu - GO button I don't have another cpu to test, but there are no bent pins in the socket and cpu should be in tact. Measured voltages with DMM and they are all fine. What should I do?

These are the energy efficient variants. My main point was that the composition says "#8: 2006: Brisbane (G1), Egypt, Italy, Orleans (F2), Windsor, Santa Ana (F2), Santa Rosa (F2)", but you're able to submit with a G2 Brisbane There's no way to limit the revision, because many models have both revisions and are in the same category in hwbot.

Fixed it for ya

Mixed scores and screenshots
I.nfraR.ed replied to I.nfraR.ed's topic in HWBOT Development: bugs, features and suggestions
I don't remember (it was 3 years ago), but perhaps the only thing left from the original submission is the screenshot. Other things (score, frequency, additional link to another screenshot and description were somehow copied from sobih's submission. I don't think if that was Jaan's submission in the comp, it could have remained unnoticed. Jaan's other submission in the comp (pifast) has the same frequency. Turrican won the competition back then, but I don't remember who was second. looking at sobih's profile, this is the only submission he has and I can't judge who owns that cascade. Here's the news from 2010 - http://hwbot.org/news/2920_turrican_wins_hwbot_oc_challenge_may_2010. Turrican - first, Berserker - second and Jaan - third.
