I.nfraR.ed - Phenom II X4 965 BE @ 6924MHz - 9sec 922ms SuperPi

The core is slow, but when more than one enabled, the cpu just doesn't clock so high. -

We failed the SLI stage and there was nothing more we can do for BCLK stage. Had 116 with 3770K and a lot of screens from 115 to 116 (every 0.1MHz step) but the validation file was done with outdated cpuz - another failure . 7900GTX + 7900GTO, second one with crap memory; 8800GTS - one good with 1300+ Samsung memory and the second one with Qimonda. I <3 Qimonda . 9800GTX+ done with one half-dead card and hybrid cooling - first card on LN2, second card with Megahalems, lol. And we benched literally to the very end of the stage. They could do 1050 core on SS, but things didn't go well. Poor efficiency as well, although we have good 3770K (6.5 - 6.6 3DMark 03). Anyway, congrats to Greece, almost sure this is your year, but we will fight until the end See you in the next stages. -

We did some mistakes, but all due to lack of experience with 3dm11, high-end cards and Crossfire/SLI setups. Used the wrong 3dmark version, didn't disable SI and actually this is our one and only finished complete run. CPU/board was throttling at 6.2GHz, so we tuned down to 6.1GHz, but had a lot of problems with 3-way CF and not identical cards. Still, I think 3rd place is good considering the competitors. -

8800GTS 320 and 640 in category x2 8800GTS 320?
I.nfraR.ed replied to vadimua's topic in Member Discussions
In theory the 640MB version is better, so the SLI combination should go to the 2x8800GTS 640MB category. Same applies to all similar cases - you should always submit to the category of the better card. Sorry, I understand Russian, but can't write/speak . -

Yes, AMD added DDR3 support in Phenom II 945/955. I think they were the first to support DDR3 and moved to AM3 socket. -

X4 940/920 are AM2+. They have DDR2 controller only. Sam, thanks for the correction. Yes, Agena is also AM2+. Basically all cpus that have official DDR2-1066 support instead of DDR2-800 and HT-Link 3.0 are AM2+...if I'm not wrong. CPU socket types not to be confused with motherboard socket types, because we know there are many different variations out there, not to mention hybrid Asrock boards. -

I asked similar question in the beginning. Unfortunately you should pick only one of these 2. Basically it's like this: - AM3+ are Bulldozer/Vishera - AM3 are Deneb/Thuban/Callisto with DDR2 and DDR3 - AM2+ are Deneb with DDR2 controller only - AM2 are older cores - FM1 is Llano - FM2 is Trinity -

Ok, now I understand why only PCI-E versions are allowed, the competition engine needs to be modified. My main point was that you can expect rules are the same on the front page and the subcompetition page. In fact they are not. There might be people who already bought GDDR5 version of the 630 to participate, based on the limitations on the front page. If you correct the mistake now, they will be screwed, because the 630 GDDR5 card will be useless. And no, we haven't bought any 630 yet. -

Hmm, the front page says: "Stage 5 - Low-end NVantage: in this stage, you need to get the best possible average out of 5 scores with low-end Nvidia graphics cards in 3DMark Vantage Performance. The designated cards for this stage are: GeForce GT 220 GDDR3, GeForce GT 320, GeForce GT 430, GeForce GT 530 and GeForce GT 630." Which one is right? If it's "DDR3 only", then many people who already bought cards will be screwed up... -

Sorry, but I don't get the point why PCI versions are not allowed. It's not like they give you advantage... -

As mentioned earlier, some of the low-end nvidia cards for stage 5 are impossible to find, especially on smaller markets. Some people with access to big hardware shops/manufacturers might be able to get the full stack of requred scores, but seems a no go for the others. It will be fun for Massman only. This stage is a killer for those who buy retail hardware on their own. Don't think a stage that requires obscure hardware is suitable for CountryCup. PS: Oh, and yes...no ATi love again. -

Sorry to say that, but it's still not clear how you divide CPU sockets, especially the AM2+/AM3 part. Look at the classification on the hwbot site and tell me which one should we comply with - the official one or the one you have on the site. For example X3 720 BE is in the AM3 category, while the much newer X2 560 is in the AM2+. And they both have DDR3 mem controller, along with the DDR2. You won't have the right to remove subs (if the engine counts them as different sockets in the first place), because in fact we will follow the hwbot classification, so better clarify it now. PS: I see 550BE and 970BE from Brazil are accepted from the engine as different socket types.
