  1. I told you that you had everything to make it! Well done ? I'm very happy you got past me, I’ve done the first step towards the 6m gate and that was my goal, but also was like when you finish a good tv series, felt empty ? So our “fight” is still on, I’ll try to get better! again congratulation an welcome to our exclusive AMD Spi Sub 6 Club ?
  2. Thanks all! ? Thanks! You are so colse, and your 3900X with 1600 flck is perfect for this task, 33mhz of flck is worth more than 100mhz core, if I were you I'll retry with that CPU, after 5750MHz I had no gain, I used that frequency just in case since the first CCD of this CPU is super strong, but the main trick is flck, subtimings an the right waza combination, I'm 100% sure you can do it. I'll post some screens in the SPI thread later today of the other runs I made. Small satisfactions That should be nice, doing a sub 6m is super challenging technically, I've used more than 120/150L since last year to get here, the OS must be well optimized, the bios and memory as well needs to be perfect, and to push the highest flck you have to manage the CB, in my case I had flck CB at -189 (with 1.66V soc risking to fry the IMC) and at -185 I was losing stability in the CPU core, I've spend more than 3 hours dropping little amounts every 20-30s to stay between -187 and -188, plus the tweaks settings and all. Is definitely fun if you like the hardcore mode the 6m wall is not only a psychological wall, it seems also a platform wall, I got 6/7 runs at 6.0.xxx before this sub, making more people doing it sounds like a great idea. I did this score with like a half thermos left of LN2, so a certain amount of luck is required
  3. Well guys... I made it https://hwbot.org/submission/4323412_hardware_numb3rs_superpi___32m_ryzen_9_3950x_5min_58sec_909ms?recalculate=true
  4. You are right, lower timings doesn't mean necessarily faster, so I've switched back to C10, and now testing with 1566 fclk 3133 ram, wich is around my max flck at fullpot with the cpu I'm using right now (3950X). I'm still optimizing a bit of everything and the os I'm using is not at his best since I'm doing the tests remotely with VNC but so far I have this: 4500MHz: 7m32s557 4600MHz: 7m23s834 (-8,723) 4700MHz: 7m15s834 (-8,016) I have only few results so I can't trace correctly the gain per 100MHz, but the efficiency doesn't seem bad, considering the Os I'm using. I tried as well the Asrock X570 Taichi, and some Gigabyte B450/X470 but I didn't see any particular deficit of performance of my CH8 right now, I used as well 118 blck with 2400 and lower dividers but again it seems not so different, at least at ambient clocks There are some interesting bios features that I'm exploring tho, but I can't say at now how much is helping the score. This CPU have the 1st CCD very very strong, so I might have at this point a good base to try the sub 6m, maybe I can do an LN2 session even tonight to see the behavior at "high altitude" Keep you posted
  5. Up for you, definitely a good CPU, 1600 fclk at fullpot is hard to find
  6. This competition was hard, and intense, in Italy we built a strong group, we learned a lot, we laughed a lot and we also pushed a lot to keep the bar raising, I can't be more happy and proud for being part of this great team. I want to thank the Germans, for their hard work and for battling with us since the beginning, this is for me the real spirit of competitions, do your best and get surpassed, set up the hardware again and push harder, trying to squeeze more points over and over again, until the end. Well done! I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed by the "last minute win", we all knew that it was coming, but honestly, what's the point of staying in the shadows until the last hours of a competition? Especially when you have great clockers, join the game, have fun with us, or the perception is that you are just interested to grab the gold medal and run away, when the main goal here should be to actually challenge each others for a couple of months. Congratulations for your first place, but I would have preferred to congratulate you for having fun with us and winning the comp. Last but not least, a big thanks to the organizers, this is an enormous amount of work on your shoulders, and not an easy job to do to make this works, so again, thanks! I wish you all a Happy New Year, full of good benching sessions and success ? Max
  7. The problem with Zen2 and ln2 is the fabric, hard to get above 1466, and for the best latency we must run 1:1, with A2 sticks I can go down to C9 but still at the end there’s not a big difference with Zen+ What I can see from your runs is that your Win7 is very well optimized, in a way that nobody here can do
  8. Nice work! X570 seems to give an extra performance boost over the X470, time to retest my CPU with another board then :D
  9. Very nice score! Well done! ? almost 100 points more than my sub with only 25MHz more in frequency, I wonder if the X570 is making this efficiency possible, need to retry with the CH8
  10. Interested in the dewar, can you PM me with the price shipped to Spain?
  11. The sub 6 is tricky, as going up with the frequency the efficiency get worse, I think we need a 5850+ capable CPU or some OS tweak not yet discovered ? Once I have my 3900X and the CH8 I’ll try again, in the meantime I want to build Win7 from scratch, but for spi is also difficult to tune, messing too much with the os damage the score.
  12. I went directly for the max clock, I have another screen with another core at 5800, but 2 second slower, I didn't try much experiments or efficiency, with the CBB at -27 the LN2 waste was enormous, I think I burned almost 20L and like 5 hours, now there's a new official bios, I will have the CH8 next week to play with, really hope to get rid of the issue.
  13. FYI Ram 1:1 FCLK CB: 2933 no CB 3000 -180° 3200 -160° And I had a very nasty CBB at -27°C with the CH7, my guess is the LN2 mode is still broken on this bios (2602) tomorrow I’ll try the new beta to see the difference
  14. Getting close 6m 8s 425ms @ 5750 (mem 2933 C9) https://hwbot.org/submission/4218495_ Still need to tune sub timings and I may have other 50MHz on the CPU
  15. I managed to do fullpot with ram at 2800 C9 1:1, without LN2 mode, 5630 all core 1.67V (new first place in CB15 for the 3800X), so I think 2933 C9 is going to be possible, also disabling some cores I might be able to make a fast Spi32M run, I’ll try tonight, see if with 5700+ MHz I can break the 6min barrier
  16. I was running ram at 2800 and 2933 1:1, at the first run I had no CB, then I start having CBB at -40 and CB at -100, no clue about the issue. The GPU as well was doing funny things, I was thinking for water but the board at the end of the session was super dry. Today I recharge the dewar to keep trying
  17. Xp and a well tweaked Win7 are more or less the same at the end, with Zen2 I’m in the 8.20 area as well with 1900 flck (Win7) The problem is that is unusable with LN2, I’m working now to find an efficient 2800/2933 CL9 ram setup, or below -70/80° it suffer from CB
