I knew i have a boo boo somewhere. is there such a thing as a fat overclocker? i thought everyone gets fit from running back and forth like a group of mad dogs chasing a ball all day..

why does ney look like a hippie? or is that someone else? They funny thing that i find is most overclockers (from pictures ive seen from events and such) are all fit and lean whereas the general perception of computer nerds is fat, lazy and nerdy.. I guess it is a sport then..

Why didnt they pick ivy bridge instead? should be interesting to see what you guys do though.

why not have a competition on one day only and announce it suddenly, that way there is no to little sandbagging?

TaPaKaH drinks all the LN2, u mad bro?
Jimba replied to Christian Ney's topic in Extreme overclocking
would it make him very sick/kill him? I thought drinking LN2 or even breathing the smoke is very, very bad for you? or turn him into some sort of mutant? -
these 3 people rom around the world. Dinos22 -inspired me to get into overclocking in general and the main person i look up to in terms of overclocking etc(mainly team AU in general). one day i hope to be good enough the bench with the man himself.. Hipro5/kingpin - both very intering on the cold side of things - got me really into the extreme side overclocking (yet to actually do any of it..but im getting there!) Massman - discovered hwbot..found it run by this nutter.. does really good articles though. and recently i have been following the exploits of aritsidis (sorry if i spelt your name wrong!) i even joined hwbox.gr to try and learn some thier secerts..dont speak greek..bad idea..im getting there..-

(Sorry if a thread like this has been created,if so please merge this thread) Just wondering how all of you guys got started with your overclocking adventures? For me it was just a natural progress when i started getting into computers and hearing the term "overclocking" said. I didnt know what it is so after some searching i got a understanding. I think it was around 2008 when i did my first overclock on a E6550 with the stock intel cooler. I had no idea what i was doing so i just increased the FSB a little and it booted so i tryed higher. I had heard of these programs called "benchmarks" so i decided to run a program called 3d mark vantage and i got a score so i overclocked my CPU some more and got a higher score..soon i was hooked. It wasn't until i think a few months after that i discovered a place which i know as xtreme systems where i saw some guys using exotic cooling to get really high scores (later found out to be LN2) after that i started to follow the exploits of a Australian guy called "dinos22" from reading his exploits i became more interested in overclocking and computers in general.I said to myself "i want to be as good as dinos22 one day" and i still continue aiming for that goal today,to be as good as my overclocking idol. (I need to get to LN2 level first) As i gained more knowledge about computers and overclocking when i had the opportunity to build my own system at the end of 2010 i picked components which where good at overclocking (except for the ram,i had a limited budget) today i continue to overclock and am building a bench system designed for that purpose. So what where your starts in overclocking?

good point. I cant say much but i do think then when a group makes a WR a group submit should be done. I think what hwbot needs a group submit section so that way group member A,B and C can submit under team A if done in a group or with their respective profile if using a person gear. eg: person A's gear is used with B and C helping then person A should submit and vice vera. pretty much what slamms said.

whats the first thought that pops into you head when you see it?
