Hey everyone, it's time for another freebie!

I was going through my hardware recently and came across the KPC Venom container. This is such an iconic and legendary CPU pot but I just don't use it anymore. It's still one of the best all around pots and is especially good for 'fullpot' LN2 or Dry Ice. Rather than let it collect dust or sell it, I'd like to just give it away to someone who will use it and love it the way I did.

The container has been lapped and it's in excellent condition. Other than the base sanding, it's in OEM condition with no mods done. I am including a KPC thermal probe and all original hardware except the back plate. Unfortunately the back plate has been used to death and butchered up for other projects, so it wont be included with the freebie.

Shipping: I will pay USA shipping, but international people will need to pay the entire shipping bill, and it could be over $50 USD

Who's eligible: Everyone in good standing at Hwbot! However, I really do want to see it put to use, so only enter if this is something you would use.

How to enter: Just make a post in this thread.

Winner selection process: The freebie will be open for about 4 weeks. I have asked @Leeghoofd to conduct the drawing on my behalf from the entries. I will 'close' the event and then turn it over to him to randomly select a winner.

I'm ready to cover international shipping bill, count me in! thanks!

What's all this talk about xbios this and xbios that? I got a bloody normal BIOS! F10d! are you all home-brew are you?

Giga OC board usually has X-bioses for better memory overclocking, I used to play with Z87X-OC and Z97X-SOC Force, both of them has X Bioses.. you can download in tweaktown:

You can manually set RTLs most of the time, there are just some edge cases where auto works better.

OCF also sometimes seems to struggle with high freq samsung more than the Impact 7.

The Giga LN2 board is obviously the best board for mem oc though.

Correct, if you aiming to clock high freg samsung, use Impact 7.. mine above 2850ish not producing any good result.. below my screen back then @Kashtan

Ever since I got pics from nox about gdies and then him making this topic a bit later, I felt the same as some other guys commented before me. Very insane how vendors missed this big of an opportunity for epic oc kits back in the day by not finding out. After almost 2 years of searching, I managed to snipe and pick up a tray of G-die locally a few weeks ago. I did't have much luck, all 19 sticks need 2V+ for 2800C9 tight, many 2.15-2.20V. Noxinite has multiple sub2 sticks which didn't let me go past it, so I started going lower in frequency and working my way up to try and find where does scaling stop being linear and has a big dent in it. I compared it to loose profiles results and the first stick in my binning order gave me these 2 graphs:

    image_2021-05-15_23-32-04.thumb.png.88e178a2631faae52d0e4670980ed147.png

Could have been my first <2V 2800C9 G-die if tight profile didn't skyrocket in voltage requirement at 2788+.

I did my testings in Z97 OCF, with 4770K, xp no waza spi 32m, single channel. No cooling on the mems, just a fan sittnig on top.

Nice finding, any pics of them especially IC mark?

On the subject of PSC.... how much variation is there in Haswell IMC? None of my PSC does anything good- tested on MSI, Gigabyte and Asus, but I wonder if im a bit rusty or being too soft with vSA and vI/O

    :)

I've tried G3258, 4670K, 4770K, 4790K they clock PSC well, slight differences, but the latest 4790K i have which is Vietname one was the best

Thanks :) In terms of volts, is that ~1.25/1.05/ 1.1v?

Yep, voltage range not too far away from that

Allen 3.57 beta and 3.69 Beta offers more or less the same performance , nothing changed. I have not tried 3.80 Bios yet.

We need a Bios that can run windows 7 also as it black screens when entering the w7 OS and is Bios related. Hopefully Asrock bios team will come out with something better that give us 2000-2133 uclk / IF 1:1 + memory voltage over 1.80v + windows 7 OS support in Bios. ( All that is needed for extreme overclocking ). Thank you for all the help and guidance @Splave , let Nickshih and Asrock Bios team know about what we need in a new Bios please , appreciate it !

Like I said before on another forum, for me 3.80 has smoother mem training than 3.69 @Splave, hope that new agesa will come out very soon, below is 32M plain run, plain OS, even not run at 5Ghz..

Did some PSC testing in ages with new L310B488 4770K that I got on OCF. Bad CPU core wise but really really good IMC. I got my Patriot 2500 CL9 Sector 5s up to 2850-2860mhz stable with 8-13-8-28 1T and tight sub timings, 2860 always crashed at loop 16 so it is close. I even tried 2900mhz with identical timings and passed 1M, but 32M is instant falure of course. Scaling is insane, they scaled well up to 2.08v and I was too afraid to push more just on air. with 1.96v they max out at around 2800 8-12-8-28 1T and 2.08v allows 2850+. @TaPaKaH @yosarianilives @GtiJason @Noxinite @l0ud_sil3nc3
