  1. a) you can not design a completely different algorithm for each benchmark seperatly, imagine the chaos. So same rules apply to wPrime as 3Dmark. b) same issue existed for 3Dmark. If you bought a i975, overclocked it a little bit on air, and coupled it with 4x GPU's you got a massive amount of points for zero effort. Many people complained to us about it and we acknowledged this, and "fixed" this in rev3. Ofcourse some people feel the opposite (like you), but we can not please everyone.
  2. If you think running a system at stock speeds deserves to get the most points, then yes, "epic fail" for us.
  3. Once again, if you beat 5000 people with the same hardware, yes, you diserve a sh*tload of points. If you run wPrime on your 32x CPU server farm at work at stock speeds, you do not deserve a lot of points. The points represent the effort you made, not how fast your score was. Or do you really agree that someone who ran wPrime on his server farm at stock speeds, or someone who bought a i975 and 4xGPU and ran it at stock speed, deserved to be in the top 20 worldwide? It is true that in very unpopular categories you gain less points as in rev2, but there is no way to know for the bot whether this oc caused you a lot of effort or not, as it has nothing to compare too. Luckily this issue will decrease over time as more and more people submit exotic hardware for silverware or grinding small points.
  4. That's not a bug. The hwpoints for first few places are artificially boosted, otherwise you would gain only 0.2pts for first place in unpopular hardware.
  5. Rev3 lowers the need for extremely expensive hardware, we never said anything about cooling and such. Cooling, voltmodding, finding a well overclocking chip, etc, is all part of the overclocking game. If you don't like that, I don't blame you, but then rev3 is indeed less interesting for you.
  6. Yes, plenty of bugs in the vbb integration. Mostly caused due that vbulletin would work properly on my dev machine. I had to hope for the best.
  7. The activity in the past 6 months is taken into account when awarding global points. There might be thousands of single core submissions, there are not that many in the past 6 months.
  8. http://hwbot.org/community/user/parcifal?tab=points You only bench your hardware at +- stock speed, you'll have to push it further to gain points.
  9. Lower level achievements are not shown, eg if you have both "collected 10 gold cups" and "collected 100 gold cups", only the latter is shown.
  10. Looking at the front page I think massman really likes the new rev3 mascot.
  11. Darn, I shouldn't have given my ABIT NF7S away, together with to sticks of BH-5 that board was great socket A fun. Not as much fun as the Epox 8RDA+ though, but those boards kept exploding. I think I ruined 3 of them. Does Epox still exist, by the way?
  12. Good thing that DFI leaving the consumer market was only rumors! Thanks for sharing.
  13. The accuracy of the database is only 2 fractions. It has been changed to three fractions in rev3, due next week.
  14. Thanks sacha35. A very happy christmass to you too!
  15. Fixed. I'm reopening the ranking for 1 hour, last submission was made 30 minutes ago.
  16. Those Dell rack rails haven't arrived yet, i can't install the new server. Beating up Dell employees would be fun though.
  17. Damn it, if it's the database again I swear I'm gonna throw it out of the window.
  18. Mmmmkay. Not really useful without info or cpu-z screenie, is it?
  19. Yes, but we can not afford better. Try to build a 1U rack server, dual i5/7 socket, dual PSU, 8x DDR3 and 4 hot swappable 2.5" SAS/SATA bays for less than 3000 euro. You won't have much luck. @Chiller: everything should be fixed already. If you encounter errors, please point them to me.
