PCMark05 HB Rules,FM Rules and correct submision for ranking.
Bustah replied to chispy's topic in General overclocking
I agree after all i-ram can be bought for quite cheap now, I found one on ebay for £45. I only have one so my xp start up is only in the region of 113mb and im not complaining. If the limit is set at 220 as it is, then that not out of reach of your average bencher [financially like me] so if that limits stays, its within reach of most people, if the limit is raised then that will make it more difficult for the general hwbot user. I say keep the bench and keep the limit as it is otherwise maybe hwbot needs to consider some kind of super league? -
I dont think thats right at all Massman, that kind of implies that you think we are a little bit left of being honest. No one from Benchtec as far as I know is looking for loopholes, just clarification on what the rules are? if there is a loophole as you say then we have identified it and informed you of it. if we wanted to exploit a loophole the issue would not have been raised in the first place we would have just created sub teams and said nothing no?
-
Its simple, its a team within a team. split those points evenly three ways that is their real standing in the individual rankings as far as im concerned. why should one person have to compete against three thats blatantly unfair however you look at it. If this is allowed it just complicates the hwbot system further as others will follow suit.

I think Bazx was asking the question as its a valid one, He wasnt asking if its ok to cheat. 3 guys benching under one account cant be right however you look at it? simply because one guy benching in His own right is competing against three [as one] in this case surely the points should be distributed between the three so that they are in a team 1st and benching in their own right second? Otherwise the point Baz is making is this example is wide open to abuse, no one is suggesting anyone is cheating. The fair thing here would be to define proper guidelines otherwise large teams will just start creating 'mini' teams to bump up their rankings and to legitimately share hardware? after all I cant go to a team mates house and use His hw to bench in my name but this group apparantly can. this is not about this group its about fairness and even ground.

-> Validated score still wrong? Let us know here
Bustah replied to jmke's topic in Submission & member moderation
This score http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=719275 has been checked and validated by a mod, its clearly in the wrong category. Its a x1400 in the m6 category. thanks. -
I really do not understand how this score can be checked by a moderator and verified? http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=718801 1st its entered into the wrong category, its a x800 gto card, not x800xt pe agp also the clock speeds that the shot of ati tool shows are very different to what the submitted speeds are. to be fair there is no knowing what this card is, on top of that this score looks like it was moved from another category. At best the information conflicts way too much to be a valid score, let alone the 10k + difference to everyone elses score, it cannot be correct. If it is correct could someone please explain why its correct. thanks. btw im not suggesting anyone cheated here, i followed the link by the original poster. I think this is just a case of wrong category.

Think we already can, expand a score click the pen icon to modify a result or click the bin icon to delete a score. Unless you mean something else Kenny.

Aquamark 03 and crossfirex. 3870 x2 Still there are many scores in aquamark run using xp. 2 cards may be installed but 4gpus cannot be enabled because xp doesn't support it, therefore a true run of aquamark can only be run in vista. [for 2x 3870 x2] which has 4 active cores not 2 which is only one card. I reported some scores already but a mod has allowed them? how can they be valid if only one card is actually being used? here is one example of what I mean. http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=766225 check the screen in that link, the drop down box shows 2 cards installed but only 2gpus are enabled. here is another one http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=769543 see the screen? only 2 gpus enabled. for 2x3870 x2's to be used the screens will show 4gpus enabled like this http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=744256 Look at the clocks needed here compared to the other scores I have mentioned. This can only be done using Vista which makes any score with only 2gpu cores enabled =one card which in effect any 2x 3870x2 score done in xp is invalid, please can the mods here make a decision on this, I first mentioned this a couple of months back, if you are saying its ok to have two cards installed but only one active which will be the case in xp then I will run benches under those terms and can hit close to 300k@ under 5ghz on a dual core cpu, if not please deal with these invalid scores. I have only posted 2 examples of invalid scores here but there are many, probaly about 30-40% of all scores submitted in this category have only 2 cores enabled, meaning only one card is enabled. [2 installed only one active in the case of xp] I hope my explanation is clear, one of the mods recently turned off reporting on many of these scores giving the reason that crossfirex is not supported in xp and has allowed the scores, this is exactly my point for not allowing them! The same applies for 3dmark 01 scores submitted in 2x3870 x2 category many submissions there with only 2gpus enabled =one active card. thanks. -

This score; http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=718801 I dont believe this is possible, also in the description it is reported as a 'gto' card? but submitted to x800 xt category. as you can see this score is 11 thousand points higher than the 2nd place card, which seems to be way out of sync with other scores in the category. reporting of this result has been disabled hence my reporting it here. No gpuz screen either. This score is in fact more in line with scores in the x800 gto category. it looks like the score was submitted to the wrong category. :] -
ah ok thnx for that.

Im not sure if this is the correct place, if not please move. I need some clarification on 3d05 submissions. hwbot rules state that this benchmark should be run at 'default' settings. meaning, dont change anything in the settings of the benchmark. Thats the way I have always run it. When I look at the results for the benchmark I see the majoruty of users have the cpu tests disabled? including the top guys. I just re-checked the rules and it clearly says 'default settings' also the screenshot hwbot provide as an example show cpu tests enabled? heres my score. http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=752026 If you follow the orb link you can see 'cpu' tests were completed. If we are playing 'by the rules' then a mod needs to go through these scores [3d05] check the orb links you will see many many have cpu tests disabled, including as I said some or most of the top guys. If cpu tests dont need to be run then please change the rules advice for that benchmark, then I and others would not need to strees our cpus unneccarily. thanks.

2x 3870 x2 aquamark and 3d01 scores?
Bustah replied to Bustah's topic in Submission & member moderation
Hi sav, I tried the same with BlackOPS mobo [returned to seller], I have a p5e3 premium coming this week, I will try that. On the p5k, gpuz show x16 on ALL gpus. So I dont think that is the reason for the massive drop. I could be wrong though. The p5k yields good scores in 3d05 and 3d06 in crossfirex category, little difference than the BlackOPS tbh. -
Hmmnn This sounds good if its possible to code.

2x 3870 x2 aquamark and 3d01 scores?
Bustah replied to Bustah's topic in Submission & member moderation
Thats a very good point Maxine! So therefore scores before the launch of drivers that actually worked in crossfirex would not have been achieved with 2 cards! Like I said if I put in 2 cards, disable one and run aquamark I hit around 270k. enable the other card [crossfirex] The score drops by 80-90k!! At the very least any score without a gpuz screen is very dubious. I see the top 3 guys have gpuz screens which Prove 4 gpus are enabled, after that it gets very hazy and uncertain. That must be what it is then, anyone know when crossfirex came into play? in regard to the actual drivers enabling all four gpus? This has been my problem, really regardless if the aquamark scores were submitted before or after the may08 hwbot rule, in the case of crossfirex submissions, the only way to know 4gpus are enabled [crossfirex] is a gpuz screen shot. Therefore, in theory you could run a single 3870x2 before may08 and call it two cards, get a high score. you may have had 2 cards installed in your mobo but only one would have been enabled! and gpuz would have shown that. I can prove it! -
WoOx3r[Pt] We have been through this a lot before and I completely understand where you are coming from, imo it is unfair and very frustrating and the MAIN reason why I stopped benching older hardware. Like you I was stressing my hardware and pushing it to the point of destroying it just to get close to people with way lower clocks on the earlier version of wprime, this issue is still a problem. I fully understand your frustration and I am sorry for it. I hope a new version that works with old and new hw arrives as jmke suggests then maybe I can get out my old hw out again and have another go at some wprime records.

Awesome m8 thanks!

Jmke, is that info available for all users in the first link you have above? and if so how do I access it for my account? changes in rankings etc? ive been looking for that info but cant find it.

2x 3870 x2 aquamark and 3d01 scores?
Bustah replied to Bustah's topic in Submission & member moderation
Well how do you know if those scores were run with crossforex? meaning 2x 3870 x2's? If no gpuz screens are shown then the cards used could be anything, thats my point. A higher score is achieved using 1x 3870x2. keep the same settings and add the extra card and the score will drop by 90-100k in vista. Can you see what im getting at? -
2x 3870 x2 aquamark and 3d01 scores?
Bustah replied to Bustah's topic in Submission & member moderation
ygpm. I prefer not to post the links here. I will just let you check them in discretion, then you can decide what to do. I just think that considering the amount of times hwbot has publicised what is required for valid submissions that people should by now be aware that Valid submissions are what is required. I understand that with so many submissions that the hwbot crew find it difficult to keep up. Harware is being released it seems at an unprecendented rate, along with that new categories etc. This particular category I understand is a difficult one to moderate and not actually that easy to get gpuz screens with drop down box shown to 'validate' what cards were used. the only way I found to do this is with the paint program, otherwise the drop down box on gpuz closes when you click to snap the screen. -
I just looked through a lot of the scores for aquamark and 3dmark 01 and the majority of them dont have gpuz screens which is the only way to really know that Two 3870 x2's were actually used.? How else could you know that 4gpus were enabled? [crossfirex 2x 3870 x2] So instead of me listing the many results that dont have sufficient proof, could a mod please take a look through them. Aside from the insufficient proof thing Im baffled how someone can get 300k plus with 2x 3870x2 in aquamark using vista, I know its possible in xp with a single 3870 x2, try running the same set up in vista and you see a drop of 90k! anyway most of them just show the aquamark screen and nothing else? thanks.

hmmnnn I wonder if any of the guys running crossfirex in xp would like to share driver sectrets? Modding a driver myself to work? I wouldnt have a clue.
