  1. Last call for the Wintery system pictures! Tomorrow's selection day!
  2. I think Asus will be doing a behind-the-scenes overclocking demo, assuming from Slamms/Smoke attending the event. Apart from that, there's the idea of doing a German OC thing, but that's still unsure.
  3. Not that much enthusiasm for CeBIT ?
  4. Added the issue to our backlog, thanks for the report! I've also manually added your result to the competition .
  5. Updated the opening post.
  6. I don't understand why people STILL think the Pro OC Cup will be with old hardware?! Hasn't it been made clear by now that this new Cup is pretty much the same like the LEAGUE, but in a CUP format?! Focus on high-end, latest, newest hardware and benchmarks ... To be honest, I can only try to explain this with a certain amount of words. More words are not going to make things more clear ... @K404: the idea is that people will be able to move back to the XOC if they want to, but of course only to some degree as we don't want to get the pros to dominate that league (again). Pros that do not wish to compete in the Pro OC Cup can always stay "pro oc", but just not actively compete in a user ranking (points of pro oc members still contribute to team points!).
  7. HWBOT Benchmark Engine API As announced before, we have been working on a benchmark ranking API to help you build an easy testing environment for your own benchmark. The whole process is simplified to simply following a wizard, so it should not difficult to add it! You can find the link to the wizard on the bottom of the HWBOT site, or go directly to: http://hwbot.org/administration/application/new. Note: you need to be logged in to be able to add a benchmark application. So, once you logged in and browsed to the page, you'll get the first of 3 wizard pages. To make it more understandible, I'll use the Hyper PI benchmark as an example application to show you how it works and highlight some information. Alright, here we go. Step 1: General Settings (1/3) Name: what's the name of your benchmark (please, no obscene stuff ...) Website: if you have a page with more information (or even validation links), you can enter that url here Download link (direct or landing page): where can we download your benchmark application Accept User Agreement: agree or you can't continue [*]Step 2: Score Settings (2/3) Score unit: what is the measurement unit of your benchmark (usually either seconds or marks) Hardware component that is stressed the most with your benchmark: indicate how your benchmark needs to be ranked; selection: processor, videocard, memory, disk or motherboard Names of subtests: if you benchmark has several subtests you can enter the subtest names here Lower is better: yes or no (checkbox) - defines how the benchmark scores will be ranked Multithreaded: yes or no (checkbox) - defines whether there will be multiple rankings divided on core basis Users are allowed to manually submit scores: yes or no (checkbox) - manually submitting means prove your benchmark result with validation screenshots. If you select no, you can have your benchmark send a data package to our engine which includes all submission information [*]Step 3: Security Settings (3/3) Encryption used for datafiles: specify the encryption type for your benchmark datafiles; options:AES/CBC/PKCS5Padding AES/ECB/PKCS5Padding DESede/CBC/PKCS5Padding DESede/EBC/PKCS5Padding [*]Checksum hash used for datafiles: specify the checksum has used for datafiles; options: SHA-1 SHA-256 MD5 [*]Compressed datafiles: yes or no (checkbox) - is the datafile compressed or not [*]Step 4: Prepare you benchmark! [*]Step 5: Locate your benchmark under your profile account settings [*]Step 6: Update your benchmark settings (mostly the same settings) Version: indicate what is the benchmark version Status: the benchmark can have different statuses Alpha (hidden): you have created the benchmark at hwbot, but are still checking if the benchmark submission is going correctly. The benchmark is hidden for the public. This status is for debugging purposes. Beta (public): the benchmark will be public, so people can make submissions to the rankings. However, there will be no points awarded to the benchmark Released: the benchmark is accepted by HWBOT and can now possibly generate HWBoints for the community members. [*]Step 7: Find your benchmark amongst the others [*]Step 8: Watch overclockers set new records! For more information, you can go through the API document: http://static.hwbot.org/api/Generic_API_1.1.pdf The next step for introducing benchmarks to the public would be to figure out a way for the community to decide which benchmark they like and which they don't. This falls under Planned Feature #11, but is currently still being discussed by the staff.
  8. Can you make a screenshot of the error ?
  9. Most things are not that difficult if you don't care about doing it properly, but not doing it properly means that over time its more difficult to make changes to the system. We usually prefer to do things properly, which means it requires more time. Also, there's tons of things we want to get done, so the development schedule is always filled. It's just a matter of prioritising work.
  10. When you are on your team page, you can click on a -icon to load the matching chart. Currently, we support the following charting: Team ranking Team achievements Team members total Team points You can use the chart's scrolling mechanism to zoom in on a particular timeframe. Currently the timeline is only implemented on the team page, but we are planning to implement it on user pages as well if the response is positive .
  11. Everyone who plays in the Pro OC Cup has to be a Pro OC member. You can team up all by yourself "forever alone"-style, or with maximum upto 2 friends.
  12. I understand all your concerns and all your points of views ... but the Pro OC Cup is definitely coming. Development is scheduled to start next week .
  13. Yeah, that's a "feature" we have in the backlog (but low priority).
  14. Not a really big feature, but necessary to support upcoming benchmarks. Just check: http://hwbot.org/benchmarks. The picture really says it all
  15. Just got this new LN2 Bios for the Extreme6 motherboard: 1.02R bios (download) Changelog: - switching frequency is available - master power mode for GPU ocp disabled - added CPU core selection
  16. Just a small thread to point out this feature. If you go to the competition overview page (http://hwbot.org/competitions), you'll notice that the competitions are now being grouped under a specific title. This allows you to have a better overview on the evolution of the various competitions. The tagging is a work-in-progress, so not all competitions are under the right group yet.
  17. Added all bugs to the buglist for this development sprint. Thanks for reporting!
  18. As the topic title states: we're looking for additional staff that can help us improve communication with the native Chinese (non-English) overclocking communities and their members. If you're interested, feel free to drop me a private message!
  19. ... but why do you think replacing the League with a Cup also means that there will be no more high-end hardware? The whole point of the Cup is to have something like the League, only with: - defined timeframe - small teams instead of users - smaller selection of hardware and benchmarks In other words: make the competition-aspect of Pro overclocking more interesting. Fyi: the Country Cup 2012, held in december this year, had more views than the pro league during entire 2012. I think that says enough about how popular the Pro OC League is.
  20. You are correct, the limitation is on the chipset-side. Only the Z77-based boards allow proper overclocking. All other chipsets are limited to spec overclocking (= turbo multipliers). The HD3000 in a mobile chip is identical to the one in a desktop chip.
  21. Welcome to HWBOT, where every single decision by the staff is considered fraud, corruption or stupidity by some community members. I have full trust in the (volunteer) moderator team doing their job in the best way they can. Most team members have been around for a while now; they do know what they're talking about.
  22. Any links to articles about the contest? I'll add them to my overview article
