Yes! I wondered about the same thing since the results in MOA EU were pretty bad. It's kind of like the GTX275 Lightning, right. In MOA WW, where the cards were used, most people hit around 1100-1150 core max, but the cards that were being tested in the months after the contest were mental and brought us to 1350MHz on the core. I wonder what the difference is between the 'old cards' that were sometimes shit and the new cards that are this good.

I think any marathon analogy for overclocking fails by default.

I don't mind users not giving the full details on their configuration. If someone finds a neat trick, they should be allowed to keep it to themselves to some extend, right? Of course, there is a difference between finding a trick that does x2 and one that does x10. In addition to the change of the rules, I'd also like to change a little policy regarding the usage of the word 'cheater'. In my opinion, this word has been flying around too much especially in the PCMark05 discussions. I already figured we could censor the word, but I don't like censorship. Anyone has any ideas?

Usually we don't change rules during a competition. I injected a bit of sarcasm because the change is just one rule in one of the three stages. The one which is least affected by the rule change since it's 90% GPU dependant. Also, the competition just started ... it's not 'mid' game at all ... I can imagine you perceive this rule change as a huge deal-breaker; in reality it's just a very minor change. @ Mean Machine: the rule change was as per hwbot request
