  1. So sad you are moving on bartx. Everyone who has seen or purchased stuff recently very happy. I know myself (chilly1 evap gpu mount) and another guy known as Allen love it. quality price etc and many of us US inventors are going to need another pro like you to work with.

I've worked 80hr in last 4 days so kinda lost on whats sold. but I'll buy chilly1 gpu mount, kaby ihs two of them and still need cpu holdown so maybe I can buy one of your 54mm versions and convert it myself

  2. thank you a lot for your help. sorry for the dump question but what does mean that they have pcs ic s? is this kit "better"?

PSC ic's are typically most desirable but your second kit could be "T" revion of psc not "X" which is better for benching. Still I see no reason why you can't get at least 10euros for a good daily psc kit with chance of decent benching kit. In US ebay has a triple kit going for 15usd 1600c9 eco's 1 samung 2 nanya ett utt? and one like yours for $25+ shipping

  3. Only way of knowing is to use heat gun/hair dryer to warm up heatsink and open them up. Websmile is right, 1440 has little/zero info and since your kit is Feb 2012 and around March / April the sn info changed. before apil of 2012 1340 was "most recent" known . Are these 2 sided, ic's on both sides of pcb ? The specs help very little as many ics can do 1333c7 at low v. but have problems at high freq.

  4. What does the best know to do ? :D@nachtfalke has 3000 cl 9-12-12 4x4 2666 cl10 ,maybe he will write sn and production date.

Top 3 kits can do 2966c9, best at 2.016v (32m wazza, not at that V). Not too sure about higher as my HYKO binning began halfway through Devils Canon and for the most part ended after DDR4 E Die. These are all 2400c9 kits, only tested 3-4 kits of 2600/2666c10 and were no good. I do still believe 2666c10 (are these hch9 ?) Dom P's are tops followed by 2600/2666c10 TridentX's (though my samples say otherwise)

Aerotracks quad kit of Platts are/were killer 3000c9+ 32m, and Nox has a great 26xx c9 TrdX kit

I prefer the ease of 2933+ ES Kingston hyko's but not all mobos agree. Sometimes g.skill retails need higher rtl/iol such as 43/44/5/5

  5. Does anyone know what age chips are usually stronger? Looking for some backup benching / daily RAM

Wish D die Sammy IC's were like a fine, aged Cognac. I'd go with a blend dating back to 1900 or so myself

But seriously, here are the self called goldens I've kept out of apprx 30 kits.

3200 1T its the Max and 2t work Fine with 3866 cl 12 but Bad effi, i will bench with 1T

I saw a Soc bench with Kaby and 3866 cl12 1T but he have the x14b bios, Download link, i cant Not Fond this Version.

Pretty sure x14b is for Z170 LN2 board, too bad I can't use it in the comp. They should provide a "Comp Allowed" modified bios to allow us to enter and not have major advantage.

Guess I'll use Z97 SOC Force LN2 until a new OC centric retail board is launched. here's pic of vastly improved bios

No idea what these IMC Control settings do yet

    Try setting RTL's like this

  7. Got a new Z97 OCF, these boards never fail to amaze me. Not sure why this is but these 4 dimmers, for the mostpart overclock better than any other boards I've had / have. I can cold boot psc at 2666-2750MHz+ and Samuel "D" at 2800-2933MHz, and on all the other top boards (mostly 2 dimmers) just training 2666/2800 can be a real headache. The only thing that has kept me holding on to these other boards is the slightly better rtl's, but have noticed a reaccuring cycle going on where I get OS's prepped for 2dimm boards, get boards prepped for water, phase or lin, get excited to run 32m, enter the bios and am angrily cleaning up an hour later with little to no progress and we're already multiple generations past Haswells heyday. This is my fourth Z97 OCF that just works, and does it well. Here's a few pics of first session, OS mostly stock since I'm binning 4770k's for... imc / 5g-5g volts / all out 32m (ln2)

  8. Didn't bother with that. I followed the ASUS guide - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-E2IRjLOeFwbGlIWWwzT1hWRHM/view

No issues at all. Z170 may be different, IDK.

Just using a standard copy of XP PRO 64. I don't have any of the USB working except my keyboard & mouse in Windows. I have to connect the HDD to my main PC to drop any files over onto it and then connect it back to the test bench so I can install CPU-Z, SPI etc.

Get yourself a PCI -Expres USB 2.0 Host Controller Card with NEC chip. You can use it for keyboard, mouse and most importantly flash storage
