All Gigabyte retail boards available in shop before 1st of march 2017 are allowed, this excludes z170 and z270 LN2 board and Z270SOC Gaming. Zhe Gaming k3 is in shops, so it is allowed
You cannot compare voltage on MOCF in BIOS to Asus boards bc MOCF overvolts memory, 1,85 will be 1,9-1,92v depending on sample. So it is normal that Asus boards need more BIOS voltage for same settings than OCF or MOCF
This decision was made in dialogue with Gigabyte, we both agreed that it is a shame but to give all contestants the same chance we had no other choice.
First statement before the competition starts, the new Gigabyte Z270X Gaming SOC will not be allowed for the march madness. Unfortuantely it is not available at shops at the competitions start (in europe not listed). In case something changes we will make an announcement, this thread is also open for questions but we already included the non released hardware not allowed rule from the first day of announcing the contest.
Good luck and have fun at the contest
For me as a passionate Mem tester this is a very uncomfortable situation, if I buy, test and resell after this I have to ask prices I do not like and also think cannot justify. So my last kit I ordered that worked and was resold was from december, (after this I got 3 doas and stopped) ,and even on this I only was even because I was lucky. neat 200 euros for 3600c17 or 250 to 300 for 4000 bins is madness, and even 3200c15 2x8GB kit are 150+
Not sure about chip 2, chip 1 is at the hands of a good friend who bought it, first test on LN2 resulted in 6,82ghz pifast I think and he said it is not maxed out most likely
For hwbotprime, make screenshot at normal resolution, screenshot at 4k and similar settings kill the file limit of 2mb. On gpupi 1b, do you submit to right category and also bench cpu?
We removed the background task for validations for this round bc we should have stated this more clear. This means screenshot is not mandatory for round 1 cpuz and memory validations for round 1 of division 2017. Next round we will add it explicitly and clearly if we want this. Sorry for the unneccessary troubles
