G.SKILL OC World Cup 2017 Qualifier Discussion
websmile replied to rtsurfer's topic in HWBOT Competitions
It is Gigabyte´s competition, and this is wrong thread to discuss this. They see main advantage of the gaming that it might reach higher clocks on LN2 against the wifi, at a 5ghz low clock competition this is not relevant. The board is also not an unreleased board of which lots of samples were sent out or an engineering sample, it is available on amazon in usa for example and also at other shops, the comparable wifi is listed in europe and usa. On the BIOS, no one knows if it gives an advantage at 5ghz, but I am quite sure Gigabyte did not give it to beta testers to spread it or use it at their own retail competition. P.S. On the mems, I think this is hard to judge anyway for obvious reasons, but G.Skill will know most likely who has es and who has not. High risk to try to cheat, if you get caught you not only lose qualifier but also every kind of support I think -

you can buy it for 170 dollars at amazoncom - might be worth it if you have an x bios. I have no idea if gskill will rule it out, we usually only stop boards that are unreleased or not available at all to stop sample benchers from having big advantage -
The Patriots have been sold ten Minutes ago, sorry. Only the graphic cards are left, last bump

Hi, up for sale is a G.Skill memory kit, checked with memtest and fully working 1. 2x8GB G.Skill TridentZ DDR4-4133 C19-21-21-41 1,35v SN 1707A500xxxx, retail in box with sticker, the kit did 4000 12-11-11-28 geekbench xtu and super Pi 32m with waza at 1,81-1,83v BIOS on my MOCF, real volts around 1,87-1,89v. Someone binned Samsung OEM long ago, it was a complete fail on oc. Maybe now things have changed, but this can only be evaluated by trying

G.SKILL OC World Cup 2017 Qualifier Discussion
websmile replied to rtsurfer's topic in HWBOT Competitions
The gaming 5 is practically same as the wifi by specs, so there is no problem, on the socf I think we will have to rule it out as unreleased hardware. I know of people who have this board for months now and it is still not listed anywhere -

Joe is right and retail means available at shops and officially released. The Gigabyte LN2 boards, both z170 and z270, are unreleased hardware that never went retail and to shops= not allowed for this qualifier -

websmile replied to rtsurfer's topic in HWBOT Competitions
Thanks for the input, but G.Skill decided to use i3, we had pentium and i7 last years and always someone was unhappy, so this is not new. I have a golden i5 btw, sounds like a nice idea - but I see no chance to change G.Skills decision -

Sigh, please check the rules Stefan, rendered image has to be shown complety, nothing hidden - sorry -
It is not hwbots problem if you do not follow news or check rules regulary. This rules update was done because a massive cheating wave which was discussed for a long time and with several threads including some of them on frontpage news, on which also the rules update was announced. The scam included altered files at cinebench 11.5 and 15 and imho should have lead to a lot of bans, but at least a rules update was done to prevent this from happening again because you can spot it when you see the fully rendered image. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for not checking the rules, and blame cheaters for making the rules update necessary. I think there is not much more to say about this...

If there is progress to come, I take your word on this because it shows Z170 in not forgotten or support EOL. I am aware of the fact you must be on hard duty with z270, AM4 and also new HEDT. I will wait but please do not wait too long, it is very frustrating for a lot of your loyal customers and also for me -
The board is allowed, apart from the LN2 1151 boards and the soc gaming z270 all boards should be eligible for use P.S. I asked at GA again to see if I am right, if it is much better than z270n wifi we might have problem, it is not listed in europe P. P.S. Board is ok, it seems to have no technical advantage above others

So basically no support for any M8 board that makes it as good as it was with skylake anymore... Impact and Extreme checked personally
