Old School is Best School Season 3 Round 2 Discussion
websmile replied to websmile's topic in HWBOT Competitions
For me there is, a big red button on top that says "open for submissions" and when you move the cursor to it, it says "submit" - can you make a screenshot of your eocsports stage page for oldschool ? We also have plenty of submissions already, so it might be a bug of your rig or browser... -

Depends on if you use correct hardware and for realbench you need to bench with internet enabled so you can submit directly after benchmark, save file doesnt work. -
I have no idea why the 980 is listed as excluded, we agreed on 980ti being out because it is too expensive for old gen. I will check this

The Official Geekbench3 Memory Challenge thread
websmile replied to Rauf's topic in HWBOT Competitions
A lot of guys sold their more expensive and valuable older gen chips (Haswell, Devils Canyon, Ivy bridge) when Skylake and now Kaby came to finance this or get space. You take what you have or buy cheap, G3258 is cheapest overclockable chip for 1150/1155 DDR3 sockets. This is at least my best guess and partially what I did, I hope for more feedback for you. -

I sense 1545 coming soon -
Once again I have to remind a veteran seller of pushing rules and that you edit an existing post if offer changes^^ - do not exaggerate the rule bending

The clock is running, no picture, no sales thread

Rules are already schedulled for an add on, on the division II we will not allow 980Ti, it is borderline decision but we will handle it same way as last year iirc
-
@Luebke What you say makes no sense - you can participate with your sb i3 and a GT710, but even if you have 980 you will not win with an i3 haswell or whatever old locked cpu you use. There are divisions for each purpose and wallet, and we cannot exclude 980 when price level is like 1060. If I would follow your arguments, we would have to ban all 1151 i3s because these are only one that can oc and a new 6100 is 110 euros plus you need a board able to execute unlock oc. With all respect, you have very right to enter the comp but there is no right to win, and we will not discriminate power users because soomeone thinks that everyone who owns a 3 year old 980 is rich and buying the division win On the GPUs, this will get an addon at rules, we will handle this very similar to last year but want to make things a bit more easy to understand

Now go for the golden heatspreader -
You cannnot expect to win a challenger new gen division with 30 euro card - old school is cheaper^^
-
980 ti is excluded from ddivision II and III, we handle this same way we did on last stage last year, so configuration will be updated to show it at rules as well. 970 and old 980 no problem, when we talk about cash I saw these go cheaper on ebay than 1060 already

Challenger 2017 Div I Round 1 Discussion

Yes, it is a standard i7, as long as it is no server hardware it is ok. You will have no advantage anyway because cooling at notebook will be worse than on normal rig -

This is a good question, wanted to post anyway - you all can tweak the heavy mt for this contest as we now have already a lot of subs with this, I want same chances for all and easy work for me, if I see some "tweaks" at test 1 or 2, I will block because on these there is not even a grey zone. On test 4, I will accept certain limits bc there are several ways to boost this -
added single prices for the gpus (excluding shipping)

Old School is Best School Season 3 Round 2 Discussion
websmile replied to websmile's topic in HWBOT Competitions
When Frank suggested the benchmark to be used we had more or less a promise it would be reworked because we found tons of holes in it especially at realbench challenge - nothing happened, one of the rare occasions hwbot is not to blame... -
Yes, it sucks indeed, I wish I had more kits so I could give you one too, but I stopped binning a couple of weeks ago and will not resume in near time it seems.

Albrecht sent me message 1 minute before you posted, John. I think I sold too cheap, my bad sold to Leeghoofd.

Up for sale a G.Skill B-die kit in excellent condition, I checked it today again and it shows works flawless. Iam seriously cutting down my complete hardware stock, so I will sell even this 1. G.Skill TridentZ DDR4-4133 Cl19-21-21-41 1,35v Retail, SN 1648A500xxx97+98. The Kit worked fine for me on MOCF with skl and kbl, I was also able to get decent results on Impact8 with tighter rtls due to sample variance (49/50 6/6 2000 12-11). It did 2000 12-11-11-28 220 tight 1,86v BIOS (~1,91v real) on MOCF with waza and 4133 12-11-11-28 240 at 1,98v BIOS with waza (around 2,04v real). Today I did a quick memtest run at 4133 19-19 and also 32m at same settings 1,35v and geekbench 1,96V at 4133 12-11-11-28-220. I checked all relevant benches in xp and newer os, all worked for me, the kit comes in original package and is in top condition Price 265 Euros+shipping sold Payment with paypal (buyer cover fees) or western union. Shipping depends on transporter and location, in eu I can send it with dhl for around 15 euros, worldwide with deutsche Post same price Disclaimer: private sale, no returns and no warranty provided by me. I will also not guarantee results, I tested the sticks with imc on air and several boards and cpus but systems can vary
