Hy boys,

i have this mboard to bench with 775 cpu...i reach easy 505 mhz fsb, but i can't go higher...I set NB 1.5V, PLL 1.65V...Someone can give me some advises about his mboard ? I don't find other bios or programs to overclock better perhaps...

Thanks

Try setting a higher vNB. This board isn't great for overclocking with though.

1.5V NB should be enough for at least 600 MHz FSB. try the GTL settings and see if the bios has the clock setting fine delay options like the p45 dark..

DFI X38 and X48 are usually weak on max FSB, these are simply not good at OC, I had several boards myself which I tested and also know lots of people who were severely disappointed by these series`. Try playing with voltages, GTLs, VTT etc like proposed, but I fear you will stop far from reaching 600 even with ideal settings. Grab yourself an Asus X48 :D - or maybe a P45 DFI or Gigabyte for quads

had the same exp with 3xgiga x48 dq6 which all stopped at around 500 fsb no matter what.

Funny..... I have a DFI P45 and 515FSB is where things stop being "easy" :/

Try GTLs and clock fine tuning setting in advanced menu, unless you are very unlucky board should do much higher fsb - all three dfi p45 I had, T2RS and T2RS plus, did above 600 fsb on air with different wolfdales

I was expecting much better than 515, yes but I felt that I should be hitting much closer to 600 without having to get "deep"

Time to dig out some old notes :D

I have three settings for GTL...one it's for NB and two for CPU...the basic value it's 110, but i don't Know if it's Voltage or other...

Most mobos on X38/X48 limited to 500-550MHz FSB, DFI too. High vNB and high vPLL (2v or more) is helpful, but it's not the same clocking as for asus x48.
